Guinness World Record for Most Surgeries?

Nah, probably not...this is only my 5th in two years, and I bet there are folks on this forum who can beat my record! I am thinking that maybe some kind of punch card would be nice, kind of like they do at my coffee shop. Buy 5 surgeries, get 1 free...that sort of thing. But really, I'm grateful that I can continue to get sliced and diced, as chemo has never worked for me. Surgery keeps me alive, and I can't argue with that. I'll be heading in on the 1st of December, and this time I'll be having two surgeons, my usual guy and a gyn-onc surgeon (what was that old commercial jingle about doubling the fun? Not sure that applies with surgery). They'll be taking out one more little tumor, as well as my uterus (won't be sad to see THAT go!). Hopefully will be back on my feet in time to enjoy at least a little bit of Christmas. Timing means I still have to host my family's giant Thanksgiving extravaganza, despite my best efforts to get out of it after 20 years. Dang. I don't post here often, but I appreciate all who do, and I think of all of you as my fellow warriors. Stay strong! Ann

    Giving or Getting Surgeries?
I know what you mean, I've had a bunch too BUT at least you have options like you said. I know as far as blood being taken, I've been pricked more times than Paris Hilton!
I can't believe that you are hosting Thanksgiving! I hope you are just supplying the house and table and that everyone is chipping in. I had three major things done my first surgery by two different surgeons. Saves time and possibly money since they only have to knock you out once.
You're on a roll today Ann, three posts???

    Sorry about the upcoming
Sorry about the upcoming surgery, but I have to say that you have kept your sense of humor, I laughed when I read about the punch card.
You would probably be sad if you weren't able to do the Thanksgiving tradition. Keeping
things normal and the same will probably take your mind elsewhere. Agree with Phil that
you should just be there and "direct" instead of "doing". Best wishes, Brenda

    Gotta make an effort
to look like I'm a really person, not a spambot. When I start throwing in come-ons for knockoff purses made in China, then it's time to start to wonder.

When went in for my 3rd
When went in for my 3rd abdominal surgery in 3 years, I told my surgeon he'd damn'd well better put in a zipper if he expects to go in again. I awoke without a zipper, so I'm hoping that I'm done with surgeries.

By the way, there are some Guinness records that aren't worth attempting. I hope you fail at this one! (I hope that your surgery is successful, but that you don't need any more ever again!)

    I was thinking...
zipper or possibly velcro. Or maybe they could just take everything out and stick it in a big ziplock baggie, hang it around my waist. Then they could poke around whenever they had a mind to. I hope you are all done with surgeries too-three is plenty (plus it takes you out of the running-that trophy will be mine yet)!
