Help!! 1st chemo & neulasta!!

I'm on my 4th day since my 1st treatment of Taxotere & Cytoxan and my 3rd day since the Neulasta shot. I'm in A LOT of pain. My bones know they're being invaded for sure and that's pretty painful. But mainly my pain seems to be in my ovary, pelvic area, if that makes sense. My husband says the onc. nurse said it might feel like menstrual cramps. These ain't no menstrual cramps!! Feels like somethings there, pressure, swelling. My pelvic area is VERY tender and painful. Is this at all normal or should I call the doc? The chemo effects should've hit the hardest yesterday (the 3rd day) from my understanding. And the Neulasta a couple of days??? This is the 3rd since the Neulasta. I am taking Claritan and Alleve. Seems to do nothing.

I didn't have that exact regimen
and didn't have Neulasta..but my vote is call. They may have some suggestions or something they didn't tell you about that you could do. Don't suffer in silence, give them a call.

    So sorry you're not feeling
So sorry you're not feeling well. Calling your doctor is the best advice. I ffelt bad days 3-5 and always felt that the Neulasta made me feel worse than the chemo. I can relate to the aches and pains in my arms and legs, but not ovarian, pelvic pain. I am older than you and postmenopausal. Hope you fell better soon. Warmest thoughts.

My worst days were also 3-5.
My worst days were also 3-5. I would recommend calling the doc but I will say that they told me the areas that would hurt the worst (since it's stimulating the marrow) are your big bone areas...femurs, hips/pelvis (not ovarian), sternum. I would also recommend pain meds if you have them and if you don't, ask.

I would also make sure you
I would also make sure you let your doctor know about OTC pain killers because they are also fever reducers. My doctors didn't want me to take anything like that so they knew if there was a fever/infection.

    Neulasta
I also had the neulasta shots. The medicine goes into your bone marrow to produce new white cells. It takes about a week for it to become effective. Yes your bones ache, rest is your best cure, I always put a pillow under my knees, seems to help. I also walk slowly when I am up to it, even if it is only a block, that seems to help also. Keep taking the advil, neulasta will be your best friend thru your chemo sessions. :)

    Pains
I'm sorry you're experiencing pain from these treatments. I too had them, and they would usually come day 3-5 -OUCH! I still remember. They would start around my neck down my spine. I also had ovarian pains, but with taxol, not AC. Actually, be careful don't confuse ovaries with intestines. I recently saw a GYN from oncology and all this time thought I was having ovarian pain except to find out it wasn't related to my ovary but my intestine. In either case, you should always check with your Doctors about all symptoms from chemo. It's important, even if you think it's "normal".

You should start feeling better in a day or two. Drink a lot of water and try resting.

One thing that helped me was "ativan" for anxiety. It helped me relaxed, therefore relaxing my muscles in my body. If you don't mind it, ask your Dr. I didn't become addictive or anything. Only took it when I needed it. And it helped.

    Wishing you much luck!
