    Update on Lee
Well my friends, if we ever needed prayers, it's now. I don't know what to say, other than he's not doing very well. His legs and torso continue to be hugely swollen, they have him on 2 diuretic medications, which don't seem to be doing much of anything. Lee has been needing 2 nurses to move him, and he's so restless that they are running non stop. he is unable to communicate what he needs coherently enough for anyone to understand.

The doctor ordered bloodwork this morning to see if there is anything amiss. He has been Very restless and confused, with slight halucinations. (nothing too scary, but seeing things that aren't there and seeing double.) They have reduced his fentynl patch, thinking that may be part of his confusion. They hope the bloodwork will find something, anything that can be fixed, and hopefully help.

He had one treatment of radiatin Friday, and that seemed to go well, but he's still vomiting blood.

I am so scared, and can't seem to stop crying... This is a nightmare. I can't stand seeing him like this. That's all for now.

Eric and Michelle, have a wonderful trip!

    Don't know what to say
I guess there isn't really anything I can say other than I am so sorry about the situation with Lee. I know from experience that there is no greater helpless feeling. Just know that you and Lee will constantly in my prayers and know that God will not put more on you than you can bear. Sam

You are both in our thoughts and prayers. I'm sorry to hear the news isn't better. I'm hopeful that the bloodwork will turn up something new and the reduction in meds will clear Lee's thoughts.

Find a bit of time for yourself, Chantal. Don't wear yourself out with worry.

Hugs, much love, and praying for peace and strength for you both!

    Chantal,
    Is he on any

    Chantal,
Is he on any antibiotics? I ask this because the behavior is exactly how Rickie was behaving. I still think it had to do with the antibiotic, as I had two relatives tell me stories about their parents having similar problems. Rickie's uncle was on Cipro and was restless and talking crazy, and my sister-in-law's mother was on an antibiotic and she was so restless and out of it they had to tie her down. The minute Rickie finished the Cipro he started getting better. It's just a suggestion, you might ask if he is being given any. I understand completely how you are feeling. It is so scary seeing them go through this.I truly thought we had come to the end. I am amazed at the strength and determination Rickie has had through it all. I am hoping you see an improvement soon. Sending many prayers your way.

...will be coming your way, Chantal. I will pray that's Lee's issues are resolved and also that you are able to get the rest you need to continue your task as caregiver. Bill and I have spent the better part of the last 5 1/2 years in hospitals all over the country and I know how absolutely draining it is. Please take care of yourself as well. I have no words to express what you are going through except try to savor the last good times and the bad times will erase themselves after time Hospitals are not fun no place to be if you dont have to My momdad and sister were fortunate to be able to stay at home and I am hoping the same for myself to go to my daughters and be with her.Lee is soooo blessed to have you by his side and all your caretaking and self sacrafice will come back to you when you remember the goods times. Try to keep remembering the good times and try to laugh at the funny times while you cry its very cathartic.I always try to think ofthe fun and funny things each and everyone said and it gets me trough the tough part. Mostly I hope he is comfortable and these times will be just a blink in time compared to what you had before .Wish I could help in some way no way to see someone As a doctor now facing cancer myself I do not wan tto be in a hospital if at all possible.Ihopeyou can get Lee home and under pain control to enjoy privacy you dont get in the hospital Cant imagine your anguish not what we signed up for thats for sure. You are one of the many saints who are caregivers and it is not fair Please remember to take care of yourself you are very important and have done all humanly possible the rest is in whatever higher power you believe in My heart goes out to you Please laugh whileyou cry when you remember those silly things which used to upset you and are so trivial now. Never have any regrets you have done all that can be done cant fight mother nature.Once again rember allthe good times which far outweigh the bad and are worth remembering. You will always have those good times inyour heart to get you through Meg mcIntyre
