I guess I am afraid... ***UPDATED

My husband is finally going for an endoscopy tomorrow. He's had upper GI problems for years, but kept insisting that it was nothing. However, he has frequent, if not constant nausea, and frequent diarrhea. His colonoscopy a few months ago was fine.

He's finally agreed to have an endoscopy after insisting that our 24 year old daughter have one for her upper GI symptoms (hiatal hernia, small ulcer, otherwise okay.) He's been terrified of the procedure, but now our daughter has had it twice in 4 months, and shown that it isn't as scary or bad as it sounds.

In any event, I am worried about what they'll find. I'm glad he's finally taking better care of himself - I want him and need him around. But now, the anticipation of tomorrow is getting to me.

I know that whatever it is, it is, and we'll deal. I just hope that now that we finally have some respite from my medical messes, we aren't starting into a new one.

Just looking for a hand to hold....

Alice

Update - Procedure went smoothly (tho hubby is more stoned than I've ever seen him!). Several biopsies taken, but overall, things look to be okay.

Thanks for your hands!

Hoping that all goes well with the scope. I'm glad he is finally getting something done if it has been bothering him. Glad daughter is doing ok.

It's a good thing an octopus is my totem animal
because I need all the arms I can get to hold hands with all of you! Thank you. I'll report in after the procedure tomorrow.

(And the octopus story is one I'll have to post at some time - it's very funny. I did have my octopus with me in the hospital for my last surgery. He sat on my IV pole as I did my laps. He certainly amused the other patients.)
