Resection and RFA time...

My husband was diagnosed Feb. 1st 2011 with Stage IV CC, 4 very large mets to liver. That was the worst day of my life, I don't think I have ever had my heart so broken so fast.
Well, here we are 8 months later and are going for it. He is scheduled for RFA Oct. 4th and surgery on the rectum Oct 13th. I thought it would be both procedures at the same time (that's what I remember from other's post)(I think, serious memory issues)... but the tumor they are going after is very close to the hepatic artery on the left lobe of his liver and want to know that they are able to get it without damaging that artery. Doc's are thinking that he will probably go home that day or next. The following week on the 14th he is going in for resection of rectum (will have ilostomy?) forgive my spelling and lack of correct terminology please.
I am so excited and nervous, I want so much for him to be ok. I am in awe of GOD's mercy, grace and the way he carries us (even though sometimes I am too afraid and numb to remember to pray). I read posts here daily and pray for you all especially those that seem to need an extra lift so I thought I would post about Dennis' procedures so that maybe some of you could pray for him.
It's kind of crazy but I can't remember what life was like before this cancer. One wonderful thing that has come from this nightmare is that no moments are ever taken for granted. I do believe all of my family and friends now know what they mean to me and how much I love them.
I wish you all miracles...:)

    Dear Brenda
Prayers from me that the surgeons hands will be guided to their best work and that Dennis' recovery will be a speedy one.

Yes, it is one of the odd things about cancer...by bringing mortality into view it allows us to make the most we can of every moment and to insure that we let those we love know it.

    Hugs,

    Marie who loves kitties
