Update on Dad

Hi everyone, it's been a while since I last posted. Dad (Jerry) just had his third PET scan done the other day, results were yesterday. MD said that nodes and tumor has shrunk by fifty percent, with NO mets. He had his feeding tube removed about 2 weeks ago, since it was no longer in use, and he's able to eat REAL food with NO problems.
He will be continuing chemo for the next 4 months, then will take another PET scan at that time to see if able to have MIE surgery at UC Irvine. He's been doing great with chemo, thank the GOOD LORD, no nausea, or sickness. The only drawback is touching or ingesting cold things. We're grateful he has been tolerating chemo well, and we hope it continues to stay this way.
We are still taking this day by day, thanking the Lord for all he's done for us. I'm also grateful to this site for the support, knowing we're not alone. Reading posts from all over the world, happy and sad, shows that it doesn't matter what race, age or gender, we somehow can come together with some kind of support for one another. Thank you to EVERYONE here whether you are living with cancer, caregivers or family members, like myself who are trying to do whatever we can to fight this.

    Great!
It's great to hear that your father is doing well and that his PET shows a good response. Hope all goes well with his chemo and that he's able to have MIE when he's done!

and very proud and happy that your Dad is having such good results with chemo! I pray this continues for him and that the MIE is a possibility. Wouldn't that be a wonderful thing!

Thank you all so much for the love and support!! Will keep updating about our battle, but will MOST definitely keep all of you in prayer as well.
