EBUS/biopsy results :(

These are preliminary results, but the doc said he saw two enlarged lymph nodes on the left side, near my lung. He took a biopsy of them and the initial look does show cancer present in both nodes. That IBC is damned sneaky and mean. Of course we still have to wait for a full pathology...it'll come sometime next week. After that I'll be able to work on a plan with my onc.

The worst part of the procedure...they used lidocaine to numb my throat. There was a point where it was so numb I couldn't swallow, but they had not yet given me the "happy juice". I was pretty anxious at that point...of course the "happy juice" worked very quickly, and I don't remember much till I started waking up. From beginning to end, the whole thing took about 2 hours.

Thank you all for being there...it was so crowded they wouldn't let my husband in the room...I'm not sure how all of you managed to squeeze in, but I certainly felt your presence. Suzanne, thanks for making sure the doc did it right.

So...surgery on Tues to remove the local re-occurrence, and then we'll see what else is in my future. Thank you again for your support, it is so comforting.

    Linda, I was so hoping I would not be reading this sort of post from you. After all you have been through it just does not seem fair. You are often a source of supportive words for US so I hope we can be there for YOU. Please let us know what happens. Prayers are coming your way.

    So Sorry Linda :( Sure wish you could have had a better outcome. I've read some on IBC and yes it is sneaky. I'm praying your medical team has a good plan, and that they sneak right back up on it and show it who's boss. I must say your spirit and the wonderful spirit of others on here is what keeps me going as well. Big Cyber Hugs!

    Dear Linda .... not the results we were all hoping and
    praying for. Procedure sounds painful -- I am happy you endured it like the WARRIOR we all love and respect.

    Sounds like there is a game plan in the works -- and with all the prayers, your sass and positive attitude -- things will work out for you, Linda.

    I'm so sorry to hear your news. I hope that surgery goes well and then you'll be able to start a new journey. We're all here for support. Sorry we crowded the room so even your husband wasn't allowed in! Rest, and keep us updated when you can.

    Linda-- I was upset to read your news. As you may know, many of our sisters are going through some tough times with this as well. But I have faith you will beat this again and recover. In times like these, sometimes there are no words one can say except that we are here for you. We're also sending you positive energy and prayers. Although you may be scared, please know your have a support team and God who will watch over you.
