Battle Plan

Well, I am finally going in to meet with my chemo oncologist on Friday morning to discuss the battle plan for me. I had a lung biopsy two weeks ago and they were waiting for the gene sequencing to be done on that before they could come up with a plan. I have never had chemo before, only radiation/surgery and I am very scared of what is to come.

    Chemo
Roger, I can only say from my experience with tonsil cancer, and having four different types of chemo (Cisplatin, Taxotere, 5FU and Carboplatin), along with radiation and surgery to remove the tonsils.

That the chemo was nothing compared to the radiation.....

Everything that I encountered with the chemo was mild and temporary in comparison.

Hope all goes as easy as can be for you.

    Best,
    John

Hope Friday Comes Quickly For You
I felt so much better when I had a plan in place. Like John, I had carbo and cisplatin, taxatere and 5FU. Three of them weren't fun, but doable. The carboplatin wasn't bad at all - maybe because I was just taking it and no other chemo drug - the other three, like John, I had at the same time. Only natural to be scared at this point, not knowing what you'll be doing yet. Do well.

Like others have said, rads and surgery was the worst for me. Chemo was easy compared to the others. Hope the plan comes together today and you kick c's butt once and for all!

    Positive thoughts headed your way!
