Stable is good

We received CT scan results today. Chad (my husband) has been on Irinotecan since sometime in May and has had several scans over the last three months. Today's results show the nodes in his neck remain unchanged. While we would have hoped for them to be smaller, we're very thankful that they aren't bigger and there is no further spread. So, he's signed up for three more months of Irinotecan with more scans at the end of three months.

Right now we're living with EC as a chronic illness. The key is, we're living and enjoying the times when Chad feels pretty good. We had a wonderful summer -- a trip to Florida and skydiving were just a couple of our adventures. We're so thankful for whatever time we have -- it truly is a gift.

And speaking of gifts, the people here have been a wonderful resource over the past (almost) two years. Some posts make me laugh and others make me cry but all of them make me glad I found a place with kindred spirits!

    Yes, stable is good
    Sounds like you and Chad are making the best of it. How's he doing with the Irinotecan? Staying ahead of the side effects?
    Glad you are enjoying yourselves!

    Mary and Chad,
    We only have

    Mary and Chad,
    We only have today. I'm so glad you are making the most of all the todays God is allowing you to have.
    When I was young ,I always "thought" I wanted to skydive, but really didn't have the nerve to do it. I use to go and watch them and it looked like so much fun.
    As we read the saying on here so often---" Life isn't about waiting for the storm to pass...but learning to dance in the rain". You two keep on dancing and making them memories.;

    Well, although not what you were praying to here, that is still really good news, your cup is more than half full. I've been faithfully reading your blog, and I am always amazed at how strong you and Chad are. You are a true example of how to fight, hard and play hard.
    be well,

    He's doing okay with it
    He's doing okay with the Irinotecan. He had trouble after his treatment two weeks ago and after two visits to the emergency room in one day, they admitted him for a couple of days. He was experiencing severe abdominal pain which was hard to get ahead of and usually led to nausea and vomitting. We were back in the ER the day after he was discharged but he has done okay since then -- dilaudid helps him keep ahead of the pain when it hits. He had another treatment yesterday so we'll see how the next few days go!
