I know everyone is different, but has anyone continued to have an aversion to cooking smells? Jim has gotten sick from food smells from day one so I have had to eat fast food or take out for the last two months. If you had this problem, how long before it went away?
I am craving home cooking and the expense is putting a drain on my budget.

    Grilled Chicken
Your sense of smell actually gets much better. Did you cook dinner everyday while he was going to treatment? Or do a fair amount of home cooking? During my radiation we would pass a "Pollo Loco" fast food grilled Mexican chicken joint during lunch time everyday. I started to associate that smell with radiation treatment. Two plus years past I can't go past the place without thinking I'm on the way to a radiation appointment. Is it one thing that you make that sets him off?

    Smells
I could not tolerate the smells of the kitchen during treatment, I stayed away from that room. When I knew it was getting so bad that I could not eat (mouth sores) I received an e-mail from my sisters friend (God sent). Type in Rebecca Katz in your search engine, Magic Mineral Broth--yum. She has wonderful recipes that stimulate appetite, starting with the smell. It is a darn good broth and the one that we use now for everything. If you can't find the sewweed (Whole Foods) it is still good. Loaded with tons of good stuff. I enjoyed the entire day, while it was brewing, and it went down like silk. Godd luck to you.

    Smell

As the sense of Taste decreases the sense of Smell increase, the body is an amazing machine that God created. Depending on the location of his radiation treatment some damage to the Smell glands could have also happened. If it is like the taste glands it too will come back in time.

    Wishing you the best
