New Song

As I wait for the call from the Cancer Center, I'm watching Good Morning America. Robin Roberts introduces a new Martina McBride song, I'm Going to Love you through it. Type it in your search engine, get the kleenex. Beautifully done. Inspiration. (I'm sure Sweet or Skiffin will be able to cut and paste and whatever else they do and get it to this site)
Healing well from neck dissection, getting dry from the removal of the salivary gland, getting ready for radiation, 2nd time around--ready for the burn.

    I never heard that song,
I never heard that song, because I don't listen to country, but yep, that is certainly a tear jerker.

MARTINA MCBRIDE   IM GONNA LOVE YOU THROUGH IT

Since you had your salivary gland removed, did they say if you are getting amifostine to try and preserve function on the one that's left. I really didn't feel much to a difference after they took mine during the neck dissection. Of course now, after rads, it's terrible. Hope you will have better luck.

    Yes
Thank you. I think that the song is new. Just introduced on GMA this morning. Thank you for making the link. Yes, I will be having amifostine again. I was able to do it 4 weeks last time. I don't know if the reactions will be different (worse) this time. I already got the aloe vera, hydrocodizone cream and benadryl cream, I had huge red welts on my tummy last time.

A big thank you for the Superthread. I have gone to it so much since you posted it, really helped with the reoccurance this summer.

Some very heartfelt moments by the GMA staff toward Robin. Good to see her get on with her life. Perhaps I can take a lesson from her. Has been one of those days for me that cancer gets a tight grip on me. I think it was the GMA piece that got it all going today. Sorry you are going through radiation a second time. How is that possible?

    It seemed
It seemed by the burn and the mouth sores, blisters that I had rads on both sides, came to find out that I only had radiation on right side. Very rare to have cancer spread from right top of lip to left side of the neck--so I had neck dissection and now will have radiation on the left side. A little bit lower so maybe the mouth won't be such an ouch but the throat will be sore. I will take very good notes this time so I don't have to go through it again!

    oh boy..
My sister is the only one in my family who enjoys country music. When she put it on this christmas...My niece and protested by joking "why would you play this stuff at christmas!!...My wife shot my foot, left me, and its just me and my hound type stuff.."

But that night was the first night a song made me cry and now im an ocassional listener. This one definitely ranks top of the list for tear jerkers! I've been extra emotional today..its my dads last day of treatment. Thanks for sharing

You're welcome. :) I am very glad that it was helpful to you.

I think I missed the last couple of amifostine shots. They gave me mine in the backs of my arms. I had to take benedryl and tylenol a half hour before getting to radiation.

what do you get when you play country backwards ?
    Your wife comes back
you find out your dogs resuscitated
and you get your truck out of impound

And before you get the wrong idea I have eclectic music appreciation
Country just edges ahead of all others
to the point one of my friends ( OK associates as I have no friends) keeps saying " you get the best of both worlds country AND western " hehehehe

    Love it! My husband loves
Love it! My husband loves old western music (Marty Robbins). He was so thrilled when he found a CD while travelling. He can listen to it all he wants, in his truck, alone! I only happened to hear this on Good Morning America, I am a kindergarten teacher so most of the music I listen to is Steve and Greg, The Wiggles, Jack Hartmann. . .
