Just in case my hair falls out again, I'll be prepared. My sis and her daughter took me to help decide. They had a human hair blond made by Pantene Locks of Love. It took weeks and 6 ponytails to make. I took that one. My niece has a beautician who will alter it for me. The 26th ? I go to Look Good Feel Better. I sure could use some of that! My eyes and skin are so jaundiced, I don't like to look at people. Hope things start turning around soon. Probably by monday I'll know how thinning my hair will get.

    Human Hair wig
I wore my human hair wig for 7 1/2 months and my stylist kept it colored and styled for me. It was amazing how many compliments I got while wearing it from people who had no idea it was a wig. Now I am getting compliments on my "hair cut" since I stopped wearing the wig last week. REALLY? They think I wanted 1/2 inch long hair? LOL.

Good luck, hold your head high and look people right in the eye, they can only hope they would be as brave as you if they were faced with this situation.

    Laurissa, you are beautiful,
Laurissa, you are beautiful, and you're a warrior on top of it. I'm so happy you're getting a human hair wig, that sounds really cool. I have a synthetic one on order. My hair is still super dry, thinning some but not a lot. I did miss the gemzar on Monday so that may make a difference...how's your hair doing? They say 10-14 days after the first chemo, well, that makes day 10 today for you and I. Keep me posted and keep fighting, we have to come out at the other end of this and see Ned somewhere in the distance:)

    Laurissa... glad to hear you
Laurissa... glad to hear you are doing things for you that will make you feel better about yourself. I wore a synthetic wig when I underwent chemo. Yours sounds beautiful.

How great to hear you have a beautician in the family. I am sure she is going to style it just perfectly for you.

My mother in law saw Dolly Parton at The Hollywood Bowl some weeks ago. Dolly makes no qualms how she feels about her wigs. She absolutely loves them and has been wearing them for many, many years. I know you are going to look slamming in yours!

There are certain things that are out of our control, but attitude is something we can tweak in our favor. Hugs to you dear one.

Good for you. I love having
Good for you. I love having my wig when I need it, and the look good feel better was really a lot of fun, and I learned how to do my eyes and eyebrows so it doesn't stand out that I have no eyebrows or lashes.

    Donation
I just donated 2 wigs to our ACS office. One I got from them and never wore; the other I bought and never wore either. (I had one that I wore a lot that I loved...keeping it just in case!)

The girl at ACS was actually rude to me and was hesitant to take the wigs. She finally did, but I felt rejected.

Glad you found one to work for you. If you have to buy one, get a prescription from your oncologist. My insurance company paid 80% for a "cranial prosthesis."
