wish me luck....

Meeting with my boss in 30 minutes about either getting a part time position or taking short term disability. Fighting with hubby about it, stress, stress and more stress. Since I am a teacher he doesn't think I should bring this up before new contracts are signed but they can't fire me they renewed me in May, plus we go back on duty next week! I just don't know how long short term disability is good for.....ugh. I need prayers.

    Prayers that all works out!
You don't need the added stress, but you know that already. Do what you have to do to take care of yourself, please.

Try not to fight about it, just do what you need to do. I think I was considered short term and I was out 9 months. FMLA (federal law) protects your job for 12 weeks a year. The years starts the day you go out on leave. It doesn't have to be consecutive weeks either. It may also protect your benefits. Check with your union rep if you have a union.

Well you have to do what
Well you have to do what feels right for you, but I'm a teacher too and I managed with the help of our sick bank which gives us extended paid time off during medical crisis. Does your system have a sick bank? Where are you in treatment now?

    Well
I guess I will fill out the paperwork. This is good for six months and if the doc says I can still work half days then I will still be working. I have dipped in the sick pool the last three years and I just don't think that will cut it this year with him wanting me to go PT. I don't know if I am making the right choice or not :(
