Hello from Berlin!

We just arrived at the hotel, and I thought I'd make a quick post...

The last time I posted, I think, was in Rome. Since then, we left Rome and traveled by train to Venice. The train was good, not great...not too much to see, and fairly expensive....

Venice was grand!!!! We moved around by vaporetto....a series of boats that carry people from stop to stop along the Grand Canal. The first 2 days were perfect...not too warm, but sunny. The last day (today) was getting hot, and tomorrow is supposed to be as well....not a good combo...heat and LOTS of water *smile*. We walked and walked (got lost a few times...but then just headed for St. Mark's square, and everything was fine). Last night, Hans got his pocket picked...thank goodness he was only carrying his ATM (needs a PIN) and a small amount of money! We rode by high-speed boat to the airport, and arrived in Berlin to rain. LOTS of rain!!!! Tomorrow is supposed to be better, but we shall see....wierd! And Rome is now VERY hot!!!!

    Berlin welcomes you and so do we. Oh those Italian pick pockets they are pretty bad. but happy they didnt pick off much. I am really looking forward to those photos. Enjoy!!!!

    Glad you posted and that you are having a wonderful time but sorry about the pick pocket. UGH!! Post when you hvae free moments but I sincerely hope you don't have many. Fill the time with fun and adventure and tell us about it when you are back home.

    Sounds like you are almost a step ahead of the heat. Haven't heard many travels of Berlin so looking forward to your experience there. Have a safe trip and glad the pickpockets didn't get too much. Enjoy your journey.

    So glad to hear from you, Miss Kathi :)
    Hope you had a very special birthday. Sounds like you and Hans are enjoying each and every moment of your trip, with the exception of pick pocket fiasco.

    Rain, Snow, Sun .. what the hey, its Europe .. enjoy. We are sweating our buns off -- out here in So. California ..
