I have three women here cleaning my really dirty house that were provided because I have cancer. I have never used a cleaning service. Do we tip these women???

are they paid professionals or volunteers
If they are volunteers and you can afford it I would tip - although they obviously want to help If a paid crew then it is your choice (I don't tip paid pros). I had friends come in once and I knew not to offer because it would have insulted them. Besides I ws so "out of it" I doubt I could have located my wallet.

Everyone likes to be appreciated and many times out heartfelt thanks suffices.

    HOW ARE U DOING
Judy, so glad to see you back. I hope you are doing well.

I do not know about tipping housekeepers, but the one time I used a service I spent more time cleaning the house before they arrived.

    Hi Judy!
    Judy:

Don't know about the tipping thing. I'm just glad to see you back. How are you doing? I've so enjoyed my dvd and so have my family and friends. Thanks a bunch again!

    Tipping???
Not sure whether you should tip them or not but you could let them know that you don't want to offend them but you would like to offer them a tip. That is if their work deserves a tip. Is this a service through a local charity?? I could sure use someone to clean my house lately, we are having temps in the 90's this week and I can hardly breath walking from one room to another so forget about doing any housework - lol

    Hope you are doing well!!!

    Tip
They were pro's and they did a great job. We did tip them. I was very aprehensive about them coming - I don't want people to know how dirty my house is. My husband now wants to hire them and I am ok with that. It is difficult to keep a house clean while working. I should know, I did it for years. However, he has to deal with me on top of everyhting else. Cancer treatments are time consuming. The treatments have damanged my heart. I can't walk to the bathroom without my heart rate going up. There is no way I can clean. I should mention that the treatments seem to be working. I am breathing without any effort.-Judy

    GREAT NEWS
Judy, good to hear the treatments are working. You will be taking over the house chores before you know it.

Please keep us posted on your progress as we miss seeing you here.

    Glad to hear it
    Judy:

Glad to hear your breathing is good. And remember the saying, "My house is clean enough to be healthy and dirty enough to be happy!" And believe me after helping my nieces and her girls move to my sisters back in Feb. nobody's house could look like theirs! My sister is keeping them on their toes. Not that she's Nancy Neat by any means but she doesn't throw wrappers and trash the floor and I know you don't either. She showed them a wastebasket and told them it was a handy little invention! Keep up the good work.

I am so glad that they did a good job...
And that your hubby is going to hire them. It is hard when you are sick, to keep up, and for me it doesn't help that there are two of us, but only I clean, and my fatigue really makes it hard to get much done. I keep up with laundry, my linens, the kitchen, my bath, DR and LR are okay, sort of. Those are the rooms my gram is always in, and she won't clean up after herself, and she just piles things EVERYWHERE. Don't sit on the couch, you will get a knitting needle or a pair of scissors in your arse. I cannot believe the things I find in that couch. :( I was paying a neighbor to cone down and help me for a while, honestly, I really do need someone to help, but I couldn't afford her to come. Plus, I would push myself too far sometimes when she was here, because I don't want her to do it all. Stupid, I know. That is what I am paying them to do, clean. But it's like I do worry that they think I am just lazy, and that they will judge me on an untidy home. Probably, for me, someone I didn't know would be better.

If I can ever get these stupid medical bills paid off, (yah, right) I may have some one come in again. My room is a wreck. Keeping up with everything else, I never do anything in here, plus it's hard living in one room. I need a professional organizer. But they always want you to throw stuff out. Lol.

    Wonderful news!!!
Sorry to hear that the treatments have damaged your heart :( Is there anything they can do for this or is this just another part of the "new you". Your response to treatment sounds promising as you are now breathing without any effort. Hope my results are as good when they finally decide what is going to be done.

Very happy to hear that you are pleased with the cleaning women and that your husband wants to hire them.

    Stay strong and stay well,
    Glenna
