I went for my first checkup with my onc and it was great. I don't have to go back for 2 weeks and I get to have my power port out too! They don't use it for blood draws so no need to keep it in!

    Hi Beth,
    Thats just great news! I'm so happy you are doing so good and will have your port removed. I had mine flushed yesterday and won't have to get "stuck" again until Aug 22nd when I get my next Rituxan infusion. My port doesn't bother me at all, but it "IS" a pain in the butt going in every month for the flush. Some nurse's do it gently, others, not so much. Yesterday stung "big time"...but it's good today.
