Today is my No Carbs, All Protein Day~in 24 hours I have a PET can to see where those pesky cancer cells are lurking. This is part of what my new and improved ( YAY!) oncologist has ordered to (sigh) get a more definitive answer to this months long cough my former Noncologist ignored for much too long.
The test is early~ I have to be at the cancer center at 7 in the morning, so Reggie and I are staying at a local hotel, and meeting Siobhan for dinner tonight. Even with all of the love and unwavering suport from those around me, there is nothing like a bus full of noisy, laughing, kickass Kindred Spirits to give me the much needed distraction tomorrow! I love you!!!

    Although I won't offer to drive the bus. Believe me, if my driving skills were well known - no one would want me to! But, I'm a good passenger - with a great sense of direction.

    Yep, for sure - I'll be there tomorrow. Clutching my necklace pendant with one hand, while waving my imaginary magic wand like a crazy woman with the other. And, wearing my Livestrong t-shirt. :-)

    Will be on the bus!
    In the meantime I'm sending positive energy and prayers. And starting the burgundy mushrooms. No good party is complete without them. Full of antioxidants and simmered for 8 hours in burgundy and butter. Don't forget to pick me up or I'll have to eat them all myself.

    Got the pink war paint on and ready to kick some cancer butt. I wouldn't miss this bus trip for the world. I'll be the one carrying the boxes of "pink snowballs". I giggle how much those look like boobies... Chen I am so happy you found a new and caring oncologist. Sending very strong prayers for clear scans tomorrow.

    What time do I have to meet the bus? I wouldn't miss a bus trip with all my buddies to support another, but why so doggone early? Did you tell them at the cancer center that might be a little too early for some of us . . . ?

    Seriously, you have all my support, prayers, and hugs. So happy you have the new oncologist and I hope the scan goes well. Will be anxiously awaiting the results. When will you have them?

    woke up feeling good this morning and cant think of a better place to be than supporting a pink sister! I am ready to jump on. Good luck with the tests and prayers and hugs are a given.

When I had my reconstruction surgery last month that double-decker pink bus made quite an impression at the hospital. You should have seen all the people peering out of the windows and pointing. I was TREMENDOUSLY proud to say, "Those are my sisters."

    The simple explanation for
    The simple explanation for the Protein is~ both sugar and cancer "light up" with a PET Scan~ so, curbing carbs, starches, sugars for 24 hours will help the scan to only pick up the glow from Cancer cells. Exercise is also prohibited for similar reasons. Gives me an excuse to sit back from chores ( isn't that exercise?) and eat cheese, steak, salad, and grilled asparagus for dinner. Can't have wine, of course as there is sugar, but oh well!
