Hello sweet pink sisters.....

Wednesday was a loooong day...ended up not getting the chemo.....I have been having some swelling and pain in my right arm with my fingers very swollen when I wake up along with some red/purplish veins appearing on the upper portion of the arm and even a few on my upper belly, not to mention pain in the boob.........They were all set to administer the capsules, even took my Zofran, when my oncologist said...."whoa!" Due to the location of this tumor, right above my clavicle, he was concerned that the tumor was pressing perhaps on a major blood vessel/nerves occluding them.....soooooo I had to go back at 5:00 for a CAT scan...went back yesterday...no occlusion of the jugular or super vena but a small vessel was occluded...and was able to take the oral chemo with the dosage increased....BUT...here's the really strange part...With a CAT scan we are administered the IV contrast dye...remembering I had the CAT on Wednesday...well yesterday morning when I woke up, there was no swelling of my arm, nor fingers and NO PAIN! How strange is this, I thought...did not see my oncologist, just the chemo nurse who administers it...well I told her about the no swelling, no pain....I asked if it was possible that the contrast dye could have possibly opened the vessel that was occluded....nah she said, I don't think so....Well, last night my friend, who was my gynecologist called to see how I did....I told her about this and she said it is very possible the contrast dye COULD have opened what ever was occluded...so this morning...I again woke up with no swelling and NO Pain... Yeah! Would call my oncologist to Celebrate but he took off to Israel for two weeks.....don't care what did it, but for the first time in weeks, yesterday was my first pain free day in ages and no pain meds...now I am imagining the chemo in there doing it's thing, attacking the nasty beast....so far so good with SE.... hopefully this one will be as smooth sailing as the last...

Whew! I know this was long but this is my story and I'm sticking to it! But to be pain free is awesome...hopefully it will last....
Hugs and prayers to y'all, and all your good wishes and prayers are so welcomed and appreciated!
Nancy

    Nancy you are truly amazing
Nancy you are truly amazing and I am so happy for you to be finally pain free. Who knew huh? At least those darn dyes are good for something besides changing your urine color. Sending prayers your way for successful results with this new chemo drug. So far so good... woohoo...

Have a good weekend, celebrate being pain free...
    Hugs,

    No Pain is Great!
Hi Nancy -- I am glad you are pain free and feeling well. :)

Prayers are always there. I like to remember names when I pray, but somehow, when I pray for you, I remember you as MAJW - could it be the chemo? I hope God can identify who you are! ;)I'll make sure to say Nancy.

Best wishes for you and hope everything continues to work out fine.

    Please keep us posted.

I am so happy Nancy ... that the your continuing
swelling and pain has subsided and now you can continue on with your 'plan of attack' on the beast.

Your attitude amazes me ... so positive, so fearless! Go WARRIOR, GO facing this latest battle, head on.

    Strength, Courage and Hope.
