I am new, well not really I have been on this site almost everyday for over a year. I found myself being able to answer some of the questions your sisters have so I thought it was about time I became a sister TOO! I was diagnosed in February of 2010 with Invasive Ductal Carsinoma. Stage 11B. I was really shocked because I have had a monogram every year for the last 10 years, sometimes 2! My main concern from the beginning was my Granddaughter, did not want to think that I passed this disease to her. Took the Brac test. Came back negative! Yea!!!!… I went through Chemo just fine, matter of fact I worked through Chemo, But soon after my last treatment I got Neuropathy so bad I can’t hardly raise my arms!. My doctor, who has been wonderful, says that sometimes it takes up to 2 years to go away, so I must be half way through! Before I bore you with the rest of my story I will go for now. I would love to hear from anyone that got neuropathy from chemo. Thank you all for all the goods things you do!

    I have neuropathy also, but
I have neuropathy also, but it is in my hands and feet. My last chemo was Dec 2010, so it isn't quite as bad as during treatment. But it still sometimes makes writing and typing difficult, and walking is sometimes painful. My onc said that neuropathy is the one chemo side effect he worries most about, because recovery takes so long and it is sometimes permanent. I don't usually let it stop me though.

Welcome, I'm glad you decided to speak up.

    Hugs,

    Linda

    I'm new, too
This is my first time on this site. My last chemo was Dec. I had peripheral neuropathy before chemo so it was nothing new. I have been on Neurontin since 2003. Every drug has it's side effects but you may want to look at Neurontin as an alternative to Lyrica. I've seen the commercials for Lyrica and it makes you wonder which is worse the treatment or the symptom.

I have neuropathy in my arms
I have neuropathy in my arms and legs. I noticed my writing is better. I had it on my fave and eyes and that went away fairly quickly. I had itchy painful feelings in my forearms and that went away. I think it is plateauing, or getting better more slowly but its livable. except I cant be on my feet and I am anurse. I took vit B and was offered lyrica but didnt take it as I am working a temp research job. Neurontin made me horribly depressed. I wish it would go away but I can live with this except the job part it might even turn into being disabling from a work standpoint.
