I am so p****d off :(

Its Isabella sports day today.I jjust asked mum if she wanted to tag along. She is so up and down with how she feels at the moment, she doesn't feel she can come.Mum said she was afraid of being sick , she has been sick nearly everday day now since she has come home from the hospital.
I am just so fed up (and upset today) with whole bloody cancer thing , I just wish I could take it away even for a day........it just not bloody fair.

Sorry for the rant , but its only here you can vent your true feelings.

There's nothing about this awful "beast" that is fair. Please don't give up on trying to get her out and into social settings. She needs to be involved.

    I hate it too.
I know just what you mean. The whole cancer thing just runs our life. We never get a break. I am like your mom, I never know how I am going to feel and my children want me to do things and sometimes I just can't. I hate it. Don't get me wrong, I am thankful for every day that I am alive but I want to make so many memories with my family that it hurts.

Go hit something or kick it. Sometimes that helps me get over the rage of my anger.

Come here anytime you want to vent.... I will vent with you.

    Not feeling good
I think it is wonderful to continue inviting her to events. I don't, however, agree that it is vital for her to get out. I remember how I felt after surgery and during treatment. Much of the time, it was hard even to return a phone call within a few days. Often, I just didn't feel like socializing. Frustrating as it is for you, she has to honor her energy and comfort level.

    I understand she would love
I understand she would love to come and would be there in a second if she felt well enough, I am p****d off with cancer not with mum.Maybe the post read a bit wrongly, I would never be annoyed with mum ,I am just annoyed at this whole process we are all going through.

    seeing the outside world
Whenever I'm feeling too weak to be able to get out and do things, my husband takes me for a ride. It perks me up to see the outside world and we stop for an ice cream (which I can eat right in the car!).... I can ever do this in my PJs, if I want to :)

    What a great idea
It is wonderful to see new surroundings, and if you're not feeling well enough to get out, a car ride is a great idea!

    I know what you mean,
I know what you mean, Mum2bellaandwilliam. I am still mad at this awful beast. It cheated my mom out of 20 years or better. She could have seen her grandkids at least graduate high school and who knows, maybe college, too. This cancer cheated my mom out of all of this. I hate this cancer with a passion. Mom did not get to go anywhere and do anything that she wanted to do before this beast took her. I hope your mom is having a whole lots of better luck than what my mom did. None of this is fair to anyone.

    SS disability
    Dear Anne

I don't know if you are from the US but if you are, have you applied for disability? It isn't nearly enough to live on but it helps.

    thanks
I do live in the states I live in glendale az I am on FMLA until septemeber 7th then I will apply for disability. I am on short term disability through my work I just don't know if it will stop when I lose my job. It is really hard knowing I will be losing a job I really love because of the cancer it is just another thing it took from me. I also don't know if I would have to wait a year to get disablility or if it could start right off. I live with my mom and dad so that will help also. thank you for listening to me as I vent this just has been hard becasue I went in thinking it was nothing to finding out it is cancer.

    Hugs back at you

    Apply for disability ASAP
    Dear Anne

Just want to urge you to apply for social security disability as soon as possible as it will probably be approved quickly (if you have ovarian cancer with malignant ascites) but there is a 4 month delay before you get your first check. It makes me wonder if the government is hoping people just die before they get their disability check.

What you are applying for is to receive benefits from the money that you paid into Social Security when you were getting a paycheck.

There is a second kind of disability that you may qualify for: that is the SSI which is based on financial need. You cannot have more than $2000.00 in the bank or in an IRA in order to qualify for SSI. You are allowed to own a car and a house and still qualify for SSI but it is a very lengthy application process. So if you have savings that amount to more than $2000.00, then save yourself the trouble of applying.
