    Hi Kenny
Yes, I have also noticed that at times the site is very slow. It doesn't seem to matter if I am trying to just read posts, respond to a thread or read/send a private message.

Some times I can't even get to the site.

I have high speed connect to the internet so I know that isn't the problem.

    50ish
I've experienced since becoming a member:
Problems off and on with slowness here, sometimes worse than others and twice in the past the site was unavailable to anyone because of server load. It's not the activity you're attempting...tis too many people on the site simultaneously. Things start slowing down when the number of members online reaches in the thirties and gets only worse from there. By the time the members online reaches the fifties, the delays are intolerably long :(

    Oh-Oooh

But I'm in my late 60s ....... I don't have time to wait forever....

Actually, I've been treating the long delays in the same menner
as I treat TV commercials. It's a good time to go to the bathroom,
grab a beer, get a bag of Freetos, or open a new window and
look at the personal ads on Craigslist.

    Stay sane (and healthy)

    slow is slow
Dial-up was a slow pain even when it was new! I just move to another browser tab while I await the loading of a new csn page...or any other slow site I'm surfing...multi-tasking can be a good thing :)

    Makes me wonder
If they've got this board hosted on a IBM Aptiva, 233Mhz processor and 128Mb of RAM...

Or maybe it's on someone's laptop and the lag comes when they're listening to music videos on youtube? LOL

Seriously though... I suspect there's "background maintenance" that occurs during different parts of the day (such as doing backups) that's hogging the server's resources, thus creating the lag. That's usually the case. 50 sessions on a server shouldn't be enough to lag anything.

But then again... maybe Pete's plugging his juicer into the power strip that power the server and draining the whole she-bang! BAD Pete...
