My mother is 91 years old. The dr just did a biopsy on her Monday as she is having horseness while talking. He said there is a 50-50 chance it may be cancer. If it is he is suggesting radiation. She is 91. What can he be thinking? She is in good health otherwise and he dsadi he took it all out. My husband passed away in Feb of this year with Esophageal cancer. Don't know how much more this family can take,. Any thoughts or suggestions

    Hi Barb
Just to let your know when I was taking my Radiation and Chemo 6 years ago there was a Man in there who was 95 years old and he drove himself to Rad treatment every day. This guy was amazing and says he was not going to let cancer kill him. The last day of his treatment he came out of the room and said what a great feeling to have this over with, and walked out the door. I never saw him again, but he was an inspiration to all of us. Sometimes these older people can do just as well or better then we think.

Wishing both you and Mom the best

    Hi Barb
Sorry you find yourself in the position you're in with your mom. I'm really hoping she's in the "good" 50%, and does not have cancer. If she does, and wants to go through treatment, I surely hope she does as well as the gentleman at Hondo's center. Sorry to hear about your husband - being told your mom might have cancer so soon after losing your husband to the disease must be quite a blow. Please let us knowhow it goes.
