Had my first chemo on Friday June 25th. They put the chemo port in on Thursday. I think having the port surgery one day and the chemo the next was a little much but have survived. Have got along pretty well, they gave me a nausea drug to take 1 hour before chemo started and then take a pill for two days around the same time. So far it has worked great. They also sent me home with another drug just in case. I am very tired, taking naps. Hope to return to work on Tuesday.

    How many more to go?
The first one is the most frightening and I'm glad you have that behind you. It will be sooner than you think that you have them all checked off.

    How great that you're not
How great that you're not feeling too sick. Chances are you won't and that's a big plus. The first few are the hardest because it's scary not knowing exactly what to expect.

    Hair?
I had my first treament last week. No port, and I am kinda glad from what I have heard. The nurse suggested me get one but I think just to make her life easy. After the 2nd poke she called someone else. They never told me drink alot of water 24 hours before my treatment and no caffiene, which I had so problem finding a vein. I have been waiting for something to happen..LOL I am tired and they did give me nasea pills, but lucky me I also started my period, that I havent had in a while due to the BC pills I know longer take. I am cramping bad! I also notice my taste buds seem different, which I was told about this.
When you loose your hair (this may sound odd) does your head/scalp tingle or do you have a feeling it is falling out?
I read about the neulsta (however you spell it) shot and was expecting alot of pain from that.? Any thoughts?
