Tamoxifen question

Hi - I'm new to this, so not sure I'm doing it right...I'm a recent breast cancer survivor (yea!) and on Tamoxifen. I've already gone through menopause, so dealt for years with hot flashes, but nothing like this! Is anyone else experiencing this? Is there something I can do about it without taking any hormones?? Pretty miserable at times, day and night. Thanks!

    hello sorry to hear u r having trouble but apparently this drug can carry an assortment of issues but im told to hang in there they eventualy become less bothersome and the benefits outweigh the risks so I wish you luck and yes I too am in the tamoxifen hell right now

    from my experience..I get
    from my experience..I get blood work every 3 mths..while on tamoxifen I take a baby asprin daily. AT my oncologist request my gyno gave me internal ultrasound @ 6mths followed by
    D & C due to thickening of uterus.

    I did not have any side effects until thickening (inless then a year) and then after 4 yrs post menopause I started bleeding. I just had 6 wks ago..a complete hysterctomy. I am not back on tamoxifen as of this week.
    (I was taken off it for 3 mths prior to surgery to see if symptoms got better-obviously they did not get better)

    I am on tamoxifen and have
    I am on tamoxifen and have bothersome hot flashes at night. heat really bothers me. i see in central air and a fan. during the day i get cold in AC. mostly it bothers my sleep. Ihave read effexor is helpful. With BC it is advisable to not take hormones particularly if you have estrogen pos cancer.
