Hi Loves,
Heading out the door for my next chemo.... it's been i8 months now that I'm chemoing for my 1st reccurrance. Today it's cisplatin/gemzar and next week just the gemzar. Just wanted to say that if I'm AWOL for few days, I'm dialing up Netflix, reading and being downright b*tchy from gads of steroids........ I think I get "roid rage"! Love you all and I don't know what I would do without you.

Hi ho, hi ho...now I've got these images of the cute little dwarfs in my head. You are DEFINITELY not Grumpy (even with "roid rage"). Hope the next few days are restful, and your discomfort is minimal.

I had a LOT of steroids - 18 months of chemo plus a case of trigger thumb that they initially treated with Prednisone. They never made me "euphoric", but I did have a lot of energy.

My husband takes injections of Testosterone (which I inject into his butt, with a very long needle....he he) because his circulating Testosterone levels are low. I hate what they they do to him. He doesn't go into a rage, but I can definitely see a change. They really make him grouchy. Not physically agressive or anything like that, but certainly more "macho" than normal.

I have a girlfriend who took steroids for something (I forget what) over a long period of time, and she said they gave her a terrible sense of well-being. Maybe that was her way of saying "euphoria." But whatever it was, she didn't like it.

    Hope the cis/gem
knocks those babies out of there for you! It knocked my CA down to 18, for which I was grateful. I had such horrific headaches when I had the cis/gem and I finally figured out it was the steroids, so going forward it has been very few for me (I think 3mg on the dose dense taxol) and now down to zero on the topo. No headaches and minimal side effects, I think the steroids were causing more side effects than the chemo for me.
    Take care Maria!

    Go for it!
    Dear Maria

You will definitely be missed around here while you go back into battle. Just to let you know, I opted out of the steroids--I agreed to take them if it looked like I was having an allergic reaction but I just did Benedryl & Zofran for pre-meds and never had a problem with an allergic reaction.

Wishing the very best outcome for you,
