I am with you LQ. I am going to get started with a couple projects I've been meaning to do while I am feeling well.
PS: I would appreciate prayers today as I'm having a ct scan this evening to see what's happening with a rise in my CA125 from 22.7 to 103 after a three month break from chemo.

    Praying for you Christine. That CA125 just seems to control our lives. My CA125 has been slowly rising and I am worrying too. Doctor tells me not to focus on it....but that is easier said than done. However, my PET/Scan did come out good. It showed that the Avastin is working for me.

    I am with you on getting my ducks in a row. I started a few projects but need to follow through and finish them up. I have three children and I want to make sure that I include everything for each one of them. I keep telling myself that I am doing okay and then I get hit with something.

    Dear Christine, I am praying for you. I know how much anxiety puts on a person waiting for CT results. I don't understand why oncologists do CA 125 tests so often especially since it is not a reliable tumor marker test. I know the highest mine has ever been was 28, which is still considered within the normal range and yet my cancer came back and I had to get operated on last year. The only reason why my gyn/onc got alerted was my CA 125 went from 8 - 28. Now, my tumors have still been increasing a little, but my CA 125 went down to 7, so I can't figure this out. My gyn/onc said that the CA 125 shouldn't be done monthly, but what can a person do argue with an their separate onc. I truly believe that some onc do not like a person being involved in their healthcare, but in reading alot of posts on this board, a lot of people get involved in their care. In the beginning, I didn't, now I'm going to continue, after all you have to keep fighting for yourself. Again, I hope your CT scan turns out good. I was on Avastin for 6 months, and it didn't really seem to help me, so we're once again trying something else.

    bags for my stepdaughter and two granddaughters.(they are traveling to Texas from Indiana to visit us at the end of the month) i figured it would be something kind of homemade.

    Certainly, Christine, like others here I am wishing with all my heart that results fare well for you.

    Antcat, I find it interesting when you say how unreliable the CA125 is, and how you were told it shouldn't be done monthly. My oncologist relies solely on my CA125 to determine how my cancer is going. I've had no other tests at all since I was first found to have cancer of the peritoneum. I have a half dose of carbo/taxol each of two weeks followed by two weeks break during which time I see the oncologist. At present, it all looks good, having started at 1300+ in November to 17 currently. He last said that he would like to do a PET scan but wants to put it off till there are indications to suggest something is up (either by my symptoms or a different response to the chemo, I expect). I can't have an MRI because I have a heart pacemaker inserted. Not sure if I should be pushing to have tests done sooner??
