Need to be lifted....not about "me" my son....

in Breast Cancer #1
Insomnia owned me last night again and now I must take my 3 1/2 year old son to get tubes in ears and adnoids out. He has Down syndrome, hole in heart and only one working kidney. He's had two surgeries in his short life but anything hospital, "being under" makes me the craziest mama in the world. I won't be alone, hubby there who is an RN so if I just have to sit in the waiting room that would be ok....but I am tired, 3 more radiations, getting my teenage son into counseling today to deal with things and wow doing it on less than 4 hours of sleep can not be good for MY body. I know the Lord will lift me up and get me through but I ask if you take a moment to just think sweet thoughts for my Eric. HE is the blessing through all the "mess" of cancer and I wouldn't change him or that for the entire world. God trusted me with 3 fine children and there are days I think God trusts me a little too much....but I am glad Faith is with me. Thank you ladies I am feeling a little calmer as I head out the door!! Hugs

    so sorry you are going through all this
    MY now 19 yr old had tubes (at age 2 1/2 yrs) but that is the only surgery she has had but I can totally understand your worry. I HOPE all works out for your whole family..

    How nice for him once the tubes are in. When this is over today hopefully you will be able to relax and take a little nap along with him.

    Everything went great!
    He did super and so did I!!! Thanks for all the positive thoughts....he hasn't even been grouchy!!! :)

    Take a deep breath...
    you can do this. Your loving arms will be there awaiting your son, just
    think of that moment and hold on to that feeling. You have your hubby
    to look over him when you can't, that should add to your peace of mind.

    It must be hard to see your little baby go through all that. For that's what
    he will always remain for you, your little baby. That's just how mothers
    are. Mine worried about me still in my thirties. But on the flip side Mothers
    have the strength to move mountains when it comes to their children. So
    be confident that you will get through this.
