Anyone else having a program in your home town? Are you going to participate?

    Full day for me!
I did a local 5k walk this morning (not cancer related). However, this afternoon I am attending a Cancer Survivor Celebration at the hospital where my surgery was and where I go for treatments.

Tomorrow the hospital closer to home is also having a Cancer Survivor luncheon at a Country Club near here.

Since I am only a one year survivor, these will both be new experiences for me.

    Flash mob dance
I was in a flash mob dance with 100 hundred breast cancer survivors at the Galleria Mall. We danced to "We will survive". We wore pink wigs and pink tee shirts. It was a lot of fun and I made some new friends. Will send video later.

    Hugs,

    Good Day
We had a nice luncheon, all free because the food is donated. Also speakers, door prizes, and a cake walk. One lady there was a 48-year survivor! It was good to get so many surivvors together in one place to share stories and inspiration. We all got our picture taken together too. They do this every year but this is my first year. We plan to add this to our calendar of things to do the first Sunday in June.

    Survivor Picnic
I worked at the WeCare Peer Navigator table Saturday for the Survivor Picnic at UCDavis Med Center. It was raining cats and dogs, but we were under a huge tent. About 250 attended. Most of the tables/information was breast cancer information. There was a variety of survivors, again primarily breast cancer survivors. Breast cancer awareness has done a great job. I wish others did as well.
