Well today his white cells are up BUT his red cells are really low now. So, guess what he is getting to liters of blood. I am kinda getting worried here. My man is pretty darn sick. If anyone has info on blood transfusions let me know.

    Good Place
He's in the best place he can be under the conditions...one thing at a time...plus, they'll make sure he gets fluids, pain management, and you have their ear as far as him needing nutrition intake.

    Thoughts & Prayers,
    John

    Ugh
Man - you DID let docs know, right? Had to say it - I KNOW you did. If he's been dehydrated, you may also be concerned about electrolyte imbalance. My dad was prepping for a colonoscopy (no food, flushing system), developed an imbalance, and lost his mind. We had to go to the hospital for treatment and monitoring (yes, we - they asked if I'd stay).

Docs can also do shorter term feeding tube (yep, the nose) if needed. I'm in agreement with the others - he's GOT to get the calories in. And I know it hurts, but he MUST keep swallowing - those muscles "forget" how to function quickly - it would be horrible for him to avoid the feeding tube all this time, then end up on one later. Hope it goes well.

sorry he's having a rough time.
agree with all of the above.

he is in the right place. i know that blood transfusions can certainly make a significant difference and a quick improvement in a patient. He needs that nutrition and hydration right away.

I pass a sign everyday in moms treatment area to donate blood and always think about it ... i will sign up tomorrow to schedule a time to do this.

please keep your strength during this time and keep us updated. praying he can get out of there soon and that he will feel better soon.
