Iffy News for me today~my markers have been rising steadily, which is in my case a good indicator of where my cancer is. Though my oncologist says I am not yet at any emergency stage, and I can certainly stay on the Tamoxifen for another 12 weeks, he already wrote me an RX for Xeloda ...knowing that the Tamoxifen has worked for me for a year, but obviously isn't doing it's job as effectively anymore. Sigh~ it's always something with this damned disease, isn't it? I knew I had chemo in my future, I just didn't want it to be in my near future. I was thinking 85 or 90 would be a good time to start chemo again. Guess not...damned cancer has other ideas for me. Getting my GRRRRR on, as I have other plans for the cancer! And I plan on winning. So there!

On my way to a Lance Armstrong Foundation fundraiser/silent auction with Reggie. My sweet Siobhan is volunteering her time and cooking at the restaurant where the event is being hosted.

Love you all, Kindred Spirits!

Hugs,
Chen♥

Not a doubt in my mind about that. Sorry, Chen, that the news wasn't better, but also glad that it wasn't horrid.

Enjoy your evening and continue taking care of yourself:)

Your news makes me want to scream....it is a be damned disease ! ! have no magic words....but please know prayers, good thoughts, vibes and good karma are headed in your direction....words can seem hollow but they come from my heart....
I'm not familiar with Xeloda... Is this an IV chemo or oral, or neither?

Hopefully knowing how many care, truly, is of some comfort to you....

You better believe you plan on winning!
And we all plan on fighting right along side you to follow you as you cross that finish line. This is a bump in the road--okay, maybe a small hill--but you can do this. You're a strong, determined, focused, special woman and you will prevail. So wonderful of you--here you are with this yucky news--and where are you?--helping other people. Don't worry, Chen. God sees you.

    Sighing deeply...
"Iffy" news, indeed. Not quite another full reprieve we were, once again, certainly hoping for. Bad enough; yet, it could've been worse, I guess. Damnable evil beast!

You, dearest Chen, have more good karma on your side than anyone else I know - and ever will know, for sure. Tonight is a perfect example - where are you? At a fundraiser to benefit our cause. Amazing!!!

We are WITH you, Kindred Spirit. You are constantly deeply encircled by much love and the highest of HOPES.

    Love, 12/25 xo

    Dear Chen, not what anyone
Dear Chen, not what anyone wanted to hear. I am so sorry that it couldn't have been better news, keep hoping that one of these new chemo drugs will turn this into a chronic disease that can be managed for years. Hopefully you can persuade them to give more of the monies to advanced bc research.
Thank you for representing so many of us at this fundraiser, we need all the help we can get:) Now kick some butt on this cancer!

    FROWNING FACE!!!
Chen you are stronger in character and fortitude than many people I have met and that will carry you far, you have a great love in Reggie as well as Siobhan and of course the Kindreds so to say you are surrounded by love falls short you are more like encompassed by it. Draw from it and know that many (myself included) are lifting you in prayer for comfort, strength, and of course the return of your health. Markers can be so scary sometimes but in truth they aide us in getting a jump on this evil that toys within, yes they have gotten higher but they have not soared so that is a good thing and your doctor seems to be on top of things and seems to have a tentative plan of action. Getting your GRRRR on is a good thing! Hang in there my friend, I'll be hanging with ya!!!
