Hair - does it all come off around the same time?

Tomorrow is day 10 since my first treatment of C/T and I know what's left of the hair on my head can start coming out anytime. I was wondering about all the other hair though? Like will my hair on my legs, my eyebrows, etc. all start coming off around the same time, or does that usually take longer? The one thing about chemo I am looking forward to is not having to shave my legs!

Thanks!

Nancy

    Hair Loss
I am on my third AC treatment and have lost most of my head hair. Surprisingly, I have only lost some legs hair, underarms, down there....but I haven't lost my eyebrows at all. I am pretty hairy though so maybe thats' why. My head started to come out on day 14 after first treatment.

Good luck to you. I hope all your treatments go very well.

    my hair fell out
at various times. I lost my leg hair and other body hair after most of my hair on my head fell off. My eyebrows thinned out alot during chemo but i didn't lose all my eyebrows and eyelashes until chemo was over, about a week after!

Good luck with your treatments and be well.
    Hugs,
    Chris.

I'm like the other girls, my head hair fell out first. I too didn't loose all my eyebrow hairs or eyelashes they just thinned. But after chemo when the new hair started growing back the old stuff then fell out.

    During my treatment.......
During my treatment....... day 13 or 14 hair will slowly fall....like shedding and then will progress. The first set of treatment Adromycin and Cytoxan makes hair and body hair fall out. The second set of Taxol/Taxetere is when the eyebrows and lashes either thin or fall out completely.

I am at day 7 and still a full head
Hi Nancy...I am on day 7 (1st chemo of T & C was May 2) and I have all my hair in all places (if you know what I mean!)
My neck is very itching and now my scalp is starting to itch so I think this is the beginning of the hair loss - is that what you experienced?
I have been drinking a tonne of water and walking lots too. I have had 2, maybe 3 rough days of aches and pains but am working through it (with the advice of the pink ladies!)
Make sure you do the stencil for your eyebrows - mine is ready to go...I know it will be a lifesaver.
    Take care,
    Margz

Day 15 to 18 - All my scalp hair
started to fall out -- the remaining patches of hair, -- I ended up using a shaver to remove--Liberating. Did I cry, yes -- but I took control of my destiny.

You hair will be all over .. car, sofa, pillow, clothing, kitchen floor and food. Amazing how quickly your hair falls out .. My scalp hurt, like I put my hair in a tight pony tail for 2 days .. it ached, next within 48 hours -- my hair left me.

Most women lose all hair, which for some, includes hair in your southern region. So, if you see hair in your panties, please don't despair.

    Strength and Courage,

    Day 17 was
when I started losing my head hair after my first C/T infusion. I buzzed it all to about 1 inch. I noticed that the dark hairs all came out but some of the greys never did. I'm not sure when I lost the rest of my hair...it was great to not have to worry about mustache or chin hair and my skin has never looked better (no facial hair). Didn't need to shave my legs for almost 8 months. Never lost all of my eyebows or eyelashes but they thinned a lot. The thing that was most annoying was losing my nose hair--I had a runny nose for almost 20 weeks with nothing to stop the snot...
Now 4 months from my last infusion, everything is growing back. The first to return (of course) was facial hair. I almost had sideburns which I took an electric razor to and it hasn't really returned. The nose hair is back--thank goodness, and I do have to shave my legs/underarms once in a while now. (Other hair is coming back also, so I don't feel like a youngster--I'm 58 and never had a "Brazilian" nor would I want to!).
    Good luck.

    ...
Eight days after my first chemo treatment I started losing the hair on my scalp. Never lost hair on my arms or so it seems! My eyebrows, eyelashes, etc., stayed but thinned somewhat.

I am getting ready for my fourth round of A/C on Thursday. On my second treatment, my oncologist told me my hair would start falling out the next day. She was correct. I could pull it out and small clusters would come out. I decided to buzz it. I still have some hair. It reminds me of a babies head, sort of fuzzy. The remaining hair doesn't seem to want to fall out and it is growing. Kind of strange! I have shaved once, but the hair hasn't grown back. My legs are very soft. No eyelashes or eyebrow hair has fallen out yet. I hear that might happen with Taxol.

    hair loss
I am on day 16 after my first chemo treatment of T and C. My hair started to fall out on day 14 when after a shower and combing my hair i noticed that small fistfuls kept on coming out. My scalp also is very painful everytime i touch my hair or when the wind blows it in a different direction. My wig is ready and now gathering the courage to get my hair cut or buzzed. Looking at clumps of hair in the bathroom sink and floor is discouraging so today may be the day to take control.

Mine started shedding 12 days after first treatment
Mine started seriously shedding on Day 12 (Mother's Day - big disappointment!) and has increased each day. Now I am finding it everywhere and it my second treatment is next Tuesday (they're every 3 weeks). I wish I would've gotten a pixie cut or something because now it is just a nuisance. I've been told it will all be out by my next treatment. My hair is baby fine and I made the big mistake the other day of fussing through the tangles with a comb and I lost huge chunks that way. Had I known better I would've been more gentle and lightly combed it rather than towel drying it. I have a wig but still don't like how it looks on me. Hope you are feeling well.

    had to cut my hair
    Nancy,

I ended up cutting my hair on top very short after I posted. I washed it and it was so matted it was either going to get combed out or needed to be cut. Anyway, my scalp is very tender too, and has been since it started falling out. Where are you in your treatments? If I remember correctly we are very close in schedule. Hugs! This is not fun!

    everyone is different
I shaved my head when the hair started to come out so I really can't answer that part of the question BUT I never got to stop shaving my legs. Lost the underarm hair about the same time the head went bald but others waited until after the 4 rounds of a/c were over and I was starting Taxotere. Go figure!

    My hair started coming out
My hair started coming out in the brush about day 14 after first AC treatment. The next treatment EVERYthing else...except eyebrows and lashes which are almost all gone after 6 treatments, 4 AC & 2 taxotere. I'm painting on brows, using extra eyeliner, putting on a wig and evening out my fake boob to match my real boob untill its lifted to join the new one! It will be great to be "normal" again! I do enjoy the smooth no hair on every other place but my fuzzy head!
