Make yourself an eyebrow stencil

Hey Ladies,

I shared this with one of our board members already in a different post, but thought since there are quite a few ladies currently going through chemo they might benefit from this. When I was going through my chemo a good friend (Rhonda) gave me this advice.

Take an empty plastic milk carton and cut out a square from the flat side of the jug. Hold this piece of plastic up to your eyebrow and trace your eyebrow on the plastic with a magic marker. Take a utility knife and cut out the eyebrow you just drew.

You now have a nice template of your eyebrow shape so when it comes time to pencil them back on you can use it on one side, and then flip it around to use on the other. Perfect eyebrows every time. Sure saves a lot of time in the morning trying to get those brows straight.

Lorrie

    Most drug stores also carry
Most drug stores also carry pre-cut stencils. They might not be the exact shape of your brows though. The one I have included 4 different eyebrow shapes.

Eyebrow stencils / thoughts on snacks and rest vs walking.
This was a great idea and my son and I had fun making this last night - took my mind of things! A hint is to line the bottom of the stencil up with your mouth or nose as a guide.
    Thanks, Lorrie

Off to my 1st chemo at 11.30am today and am chugging water like a crazy woman (that I am!) Also any thoughts on snacks? I am a big salad and fruit eater too. Any other thoughts?

Also, when I get home, should I rest or go for a walk? I have heard varying reports. It is a beautiful day here today.

    Margz, Listen to your body,
    Margz,

Listen to your body, it will tell you. I always felt sluggish after my treatments, but I still went for little walks. The day after treatment I was good, but come day two... USELess... One of the things my oncologist warned me to avoid was fresh fruits and vegetables. Unless you can cook them to get rid of germs, you have to be careful with your weakened immune system.

I'll be thinking of you in a couple of hours.. Knock em dead girl !!

    Lorrie

I should add on here, that once your cell counts rebound you can have fresh stuff...

Beleive me when I say ....
Gently push yourself, otherwise - life will get unbearable. We need to sweat, along with other body functions -- to dispose of the waste and poison called 'chemo'.

Make a game of it, go upstairs several times during the day, or downstairs -- grab a kitchen chair - lift each leg, arm .. stretch --

It takes time, but never 'give up, or never 'give in' -- that's my Motto. I've been there ..done that -- diagnosis with 'chronic fatigue' due to chemo (18 consec weeks, no breaks)

    Good Luck !

    Try to keep moving!
AS Vicki said, you definitely have to push yourself. A good friend of mine just said that the bed drains you and laying around just makes you wanna lay around more.
