Hi all,

Well, I had the mammo today and then had the ultrasound. Long day. They found a large and small cyst and enlarged duct. I have never had cysts before,so I am still worried.
My family history has lots of BC. younger Sister, Aunt and 2 cousins. And me with my cancers, not BC, I am concerned.

I thank you all for your warmth and kind words. I was glad to get it done, but now am still worried. I know some of you had normal mammos, but ended up with BC.

How do I feel comfortable with this. Should I do anything different or more. Or just wait till next year.

Wishing I felt better about this...
Lisha

    Lisha,
It's always so hard to know what to do and we second guess ourselves when we do make decisions. Speak to your Dr, ask his advice. Personally, I would want a 6 month follow up mammo.

    I agree with discussing this
I agree with discussing this with your doctor. Since you have a strong family history and now have some cysts I also think it's a great idea to ask about having your mammogram repeated in 6 months. Keep us updated.

    My mammo
The day they found my tumor(later found out it was cancerous) they also found a cyst.So now everytime i get a mammo they say things are fine. There is a place that appears to be benign. It has to be the cyst so why not do away with it when they did my cancer surgeries.Cysts are benign but if they grow they want to look into it.years ago I had a cyct that grew. It was aspirated and the fluid sent off.

I have a kidney cyst and my urologist is not the least bit concerned. With a family history keep up with it.I also have bc in my family and had many benign tumors before the malignant. I knew someday it would hit but the older I got the more comfortable I felt.BUT bc hits women and men in the age bracket of 60-80.I read this but believe it can be any age with so many young women being dx.

    Advice
    Hi Sue, Nancy and Lynn,

Thanks for your advice. It does seem smart to have another mammo in six months. I'll talk to my dr, and go from there.

I do feel better having had the mammo. It's been hard lately with all the other ca stuff going on. It's hard not to get overwhelmed with it.

You all are so supportive of each other, it's a blessing.

I'll keep you updated as I learn more.

    Peaceful healing

    You should talk to your
You should talk to your doctor about your worries. I am sure he will have you have a mammo every six months. Did he mention an MRI?

I know how hard it is to not worry, we've all been there and done that. But, it looks like to me that you have a clean report, and, that is good news!

    MRI
    Hi Angie,

No mention of MRI, but I will be sure to ask about it.
I agree that the report looks good. I just have had so much lately with cancer and tx, that I find it hard not to worry. I feel so overwhelmed these days.
    Thanks again
