Our Neighbor

Options
About a month ago, our neighbor came to the door to ask Glenn some questions. It turns out he's had a "swollen" gland in his neck for "a while".

Long story short, he has SCC with an unknown primary. Just like Glenn and just about exactly 1 year after Glenn's diagnosis. We were shocked, to say the least.

He came home from the hospital Saturday after having his neck dissection and he looks really good. He had the same surgeon that Charles (Irishgypsie) had.

He'll go forward with whatever is recommended after they convene a tumor board to discuss all laboratory/surgical findings. Probably in 3 to 4 weeks.

He absolutely hates taking medicine that makes him feel different in any way. Not sure he even drinks caffinated coffee. We're trying to help him let go of that so he can get some benefit from the pain medicine he'll be given along the way.

Anyway, keep him in your thoughts as he fights his fight this summer.

    Coming that way...

I'm sure he is in great hands with you as a close neighbor and with the experience and knowledge that you have gained this last year.

    Best,
    John

    What are the Odds?
Sorry you and Glenn have the experience under your belts, but since you do, glad you can be there for your neighbor. Hope he does well.
