Part one down

Well the day did not go totally as planned. I was to have my port put in place this morning and that didn't happen. There was an emergency and they had to reschedule that for tomorrow morning.

I was able to still get my chemo today, just had to do by vein, which also did not go as planned. Blew out one vein and they had to do the inside of my right (dominant) arm, which of course made everything hard to do. It seemed to take forever. We were leaving the doctors building at about 10 till 6.

I don't feel great this evening by any means, but they gave me nausea med and I went ahead and took it. I have a feeling me and the bathroom are going to be really close friends for a few days. Trying to drink a lot. I think the bus is gaining ground on me though.

I'll probably pop in and out so bear with me if I get short and to the point LOL.

Take care everyone,
Beth

    One Down
Hi Beth, I am so pleased to hear from you and what a wonderful unexpected surprise. Imagined you to be totally wiped out. I'm really sorry that the port placement was delayed and that your vein blew out with the IV. That's more crap, excuse my language, that you need right now. I certainly will pray that things go better tomorrow for you. And I hope you don't have to visit the bathroom too ofter this evening. Get a much needed rest. Yeah....one down and 3 more days to go. You go girl!!!

    With love and prayers,
    Leslie

Actually the bathroom is a good thing. One of the chemo drugs is really hard on the bladder and cause major problems so I have to really push fluids and the end result means trips to the potty.

I am hurting I'll admit that. My hips are so sore.

    Day 2
    Dear Beth,

By the time you read this, the port would of been put in place. I know my husband had a port, and it is much easier getting treatment.

Yes, drink plenty of fluids, and rest when you can.

All my love and thoughts to you. Maggie

    From the recliner day 2
Well, got the port in this morning and am in the process of chemo now. Between the drugs they gave me for the procedure and the liquid zofran I am definitely higher than a kite LOL.

I certainly hope tonight goes better. I just did not feel good at all. That was so much different than the CVPR. I didn't have any side effects for about 4 days with that.

My brain feels fried though. I just did not get very restful sleep at all. I feel like I may have gotten about 2-3 hours total.

I am thinking a nap sounds pretty good me to me about now.
    Take care,
    Beth
