Here we say the first sign of spring is a robin...Thursday afternoon, in our backyard + at the same time I saw a FAT robin (I thought they were supposed to be thin after a long winter!), 2 mourning doves (I think looking for materials to build a nest), a bluejay, a cardinal (male) and a squirrel. Spring has sprung!

    How Wonderful
Today as I sat in my back yard I saw my black squirrel, as I admired his color and feathery black tail, Jake, the cat next door came walking along the top of the fence. Oh My, my little black squirrel hadn't noticed him, as he walked along the lava rocks by my gardening Angel, I jumped up with my newspaper yelling at the cat. The squirrel made his escape. Wheh, yes spring is here, the sun was shining, the animals wild and tame are about, the birds are a flying, the bees were getting the nectar from my clover overgrown weeds in my backyard. Isn't it beautiful???
Thank you Anne for reminding us, after the cold and the rains (snow elsewhere), the warmth and joy springs to life about this time of year. Most wonderous indeed.

We had a large flock of robins here this morning! I should have taken a picture since I've never seen anything like it before. There were something like 30 robins on a small patch of snow-free lawn all pecking away... It was quite the sight! :-) Spring is coming people... finally! :-)

    florida sunshine
I live in sun city center florida. The weather has been 80+ degrees for awhile. Coming from Pa. I can relate to how wonderful the first signs of spring are. A time of rebirth and healing, lets hope it is that way for all here too.
