Carboplatin and Taxol..who's had this cocktail?

My supervisor's special needs daughter (age 37) was just diagnosed with Stage 4 bc. The onco wants to treat it agressively. It is already in her abdomen and probably other places. We are still waiting for the final pathology report.

This is the cocktail she will be receiving. I had Cytoxan and Taxotere so I know nothing about this combo.

Any advice will be appreciated.

I had a different combo many years ago: cytoxan, methotrexate, and fluorouracil (CMF). It is not used much anymore. But I have found a site that I thought might be useful to you, chemocare.com. It has most of the chemo drugs used, adverse effects and ways to combat those effects.

    Chemo Care List of Drugs

Just click on one of the drugs to learn more. Also, don't miss the tabs at the top of the page such as "Managing Side Effects" and "Eating Well During Chemotherapy."

    Not me, but
that combination is pretty standard for treatment of endometrial cancer. Has she also had that?

    Not sure
About the endometrial part. Her CA125 levels were quite high and as I said she has cancer all through her abdomen so it's possible.

    Thanks.

    Hi Patti
Yes that 'Cocktail" is the gold standard for uterine and ovarian cancer. It's usually the first line chemo for both of those. You might want to wander over to those boards and do a search , or post a new topic.. I am sure the kind, caring ladies over there will weigh in with a ton of info.
    Good luck!!!

    Thanks
Her first chemo is tomorrow. It's been determined that it's breast cancer metastisized to her abdomen. Long road ahead for her and her mom!!

Thanks for all the info and support my sisters in pink!
