Got rid of the curls!

It's been 10 months now since my last chemo and I finally decided the curls just weren't me so I got them cut off today. My hair is really short now but I like it much better than the ugly frizzy curls I had. I feel like I finally took a step towards taking my life back and it feels wonderful!!! Now I'm going to enjoy playing the game of seeing how long it takes my husband to notice:-)

I didn't need chemo but if I had I wanted Some curl or just some waves. But from what others said I might not get any curls.Probably my luck I wouldn't. If the curl is to much I also would cut it off.

Right now with tamoifin my hair is thinnig.I am letting it grow long but roll it tight. I want to look like I have more hair than I really have.

Let us know how long it takes your husband to notice!!!!!

Mine came back curly and as
Mine came back curly and as long as I don't blow dry it and I use good products, I love it. My hair was so straight and thin, now it's thick and curly. I liked it short too, so if my curls bothered me I would hack it off as well. Happy Hair :)

He noticed the instant he saw me.
I was standing at the door when he drove up and he noticed before he even got out of the car. I guess the man should have been a politician because he said he liked the curls but he also likes the short hairdo. I guess I'll keep him another 36 years:-) I hope everyone has a peaceful pain-free weekend.

    HUGS!!!

shaved last week and now growi ng!
I cut REALLY short last week to a #3 cut on top with the back almost a full shave and now on Taxol treatment it seems like my hair is actually GROWING and I;m so excited, I think I am getting chemo curls! April 1 I start on FEC though so will probably go bald all the way...oh well. I want the curls- have naturally wavy hair but have always wanted it to be curlier!

    My hair
My hair before chemo was straight as a pin and would not hold a curl.
After chemo when it started to grow in it came in like my picture--natural frosted tips and then started to get some curl on the sides and wave on the top but as it grew out it has become straight again but has body and holds a curl all day. It is very thick and not much white anymore. The white blends in so it looks like natural highlights.

I will have to update my picture very soon since the picture on here is from Oct. 2009. And both Jake and I have changed so much.

Not everyone's hair grows in different then it was.

    I was
I was wishing and hoping mine would have come in curly. A woman that I know that has gone through chemo treatments several times her hair has come back different each and every time. It is just amazing. Once her hair is white, then next it is dark brown, then it is blonde--it comes in curly , then straight, and then wavy.

We never know and she never knows how it will come in--she is a trooper and a fighter--I believe she will be around for many more years--she has amazed all of her doctors.

My hair came back .. thinner in texture. Curly, not
so much. I say, KUDOS, to you and getting back to normal, Jamiegww! I feel my hair is getting thicker, now that I have finished with my year long Herceptin treatments -- eyebrows and lashes have yet to return to the pre-chemo, luster and thickness.

I had a natural wave to my hair and had colored it for more than 20 years. 3 months after chemo ended and you can still see my scalp. I can't tell yet whether it's curly or straight. There is some very short dark hair, long white hair and medium gray. Lovely! I don't wear a hat indoors but do when going out. Bravo to you for cutting the curls and living with a short do :-)

I started out with curly hair so......
I was expecting it to grow back in curly and it kind of did. The sides and back are curly and the top grew in straight. I used to be able to wash it, put some moose in and go now I have to stuggle with the straight part to give it some curl. Hope as it grows out more, the curls come back in on the top.

    Chemo curls..
Mine came back in salt and pepper...had dark hair before...got rid of the salt pronto! It was unbelievably CURLY! It wasn't before chemo...I really liked it at first..super easy..as it grew it got really unruly...I normally wear it short...have now have had 4 haircuts...some curl is still present..
I, far prefer my pre chemo hair..but I always say, didn't care if it had grown in curly, straight or green...IT's hair and I am grateful for it!
