in Breast Cancer #1
I had my lumpectomy surgery last Wednesday. My oncology surgeon called last night to tell me the margins were clear and the lymph nodes were negative for cancer. Sigh of relief!! No additional surgery needed. Next step is finding an oncologist.

    I too had same as you but almost 3 yrs ago...sugery and radiation...

    GOOD luck with finding onolcogist...I love my treatment center and all staff and oncologist's office nice too!

    Great news!
    Sounds similar to my situation 2 years ago. I recommend you ask for an oncoDX test which is for node negative breast cancer. It will help your oncologist decide on chemo or not. I had it done and it was decided that chemo would not make a difference. Yea! I would have definately opted for chemo if I had had a high score. The test really examines the cell to come up with the likelyhood of recurrence in the next 10 years and the aggressiveness of the cancer. Good test and only available since 2004.

    Loving your good news. I agree with asking for an oncotype DX test if you end up unsure whether or not to do chemo because of the stage, size and path report. So happy for you!
