scan results today

I've been waiting for this day since October! That's when my last scan showed not only rapid growth of the existing tumors in the liver but also new ones. After that scan, we changed my chemo to Navalbine and continued with Herceptin and Zometa. This scan was done Monday and the results were worth waiting for!

HOORAY for NAVALBINE! The spots in the bones have remained stable, the tumors in the breast have been greatly reduced in size, AND the many tumors in the liver show "significant improvement". Of course my onc knew I'd want to see it so he set it up on his computer. It was a split screen showing both Monday's scan and October's. It truly was unbelievable! As he sliced through one frame at a time, all of the tumors in the liver could be compared. "Significant" was almost an understatement. Yes, most of them are still visible, but much, much, MUCH SMALLER.

I've tried to be hopeful and optimistic throughout this journey, but must admit that it's not always easy. This started for me with diagnosis on February 10, 2010 - so I'm very close to the one year mark.

My hope is that each and everyone of you who is waiting for test results may receive news as good as mine was today! God bless us all.
