update on doctor appt

I went to my oncologist yesterday, i did not get done chemo until 9:30pm, they had to put me in a hospital room to finish chemo since the infusion room closed at 7pm. I am on a new chemo drug called Ixabepilone (Ixempra) and it is a 3 hour infusion. I was wondering if anyone is familiar with this drug. I did google all about it so i do have plenty of info and there are a lot of bad side effects. They gave me a very heavy dose of Benadryl. Well, anyway I woke up this morning not feeling bad at all! I have a doctor appt at 1pm for pain management so i will get through that then come home and crawl into bed and sleep! ohhhhh...just remembered American Idol is on tonight, that might be fun to watch! take care

    Meena, that is great news! The fact that you "are not feeling bad" is wonderful. I am hoping that this drug is the answer to destroying the beast. I sure hope so!! Take very good care of yourself and get some rest so you'll be awake for American Idol. Do you want me to call you to make certain? Good luck with doc today, too!

    Meena, Glad to hear that you've "weathered" another chemo. I am praying that this is the one that slays the beast. I am not familiar with Ixempra. I wonder where they got that name from? Some of the chemo names are so peculiar and seem to have little to do with the chemical compounds from whence they come. You take care, too. xoxoxo Lynn

    So glad to hear that you're feeling well after your chemo. Sounds like a perfect plan to rest up and set your alarm to wake up, watch American Idol, and then rest some more!

    So glad to hear that you are feeling well after chemo. Let's hope the rest are the same. I haven't watched American Idol in years, but think I will watch to see the new judges. :)

    Meen i was sooo looking for an update.
    I'm glad to hear that the treatment is being gentle on you, but hopefully kicking some serious cancer Butt!!! You sound great, and your spirit is an inspiration to me.
    I'm scheduled next week for my Zometa infusion, then have tell that doc. that I can't do this Femara. I stayed depressed and exhausted the whole time I took it. I'm hoping a different med will be more tolerable. Just before i decided i couldn't take anymore, I stayed in bed for 3 days and never got out of my pajamas. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for both of us.
    February i have another scan so I'm hoping for my first dance with NED!
    It was sweet of you to lift all our spirits during such a tumultuous time.

    Dear sister, so good to read that you got to your chemo appointment safely and are home now and feeling pretty good.

    I had been praying for a safe trip for you and for the chemo treatment to not make you feel sick.

    Not sure I will like the new judges on American Idol, but, we will see.
