Had the tea today and I'm feeling so much better after going tons of poop. Thanks for all of your comments on how I should handle the senna situation. John23 just loved your response to me :) I'm thinking maybe once every 4-5 days and only using half the tea bag strength and using the other half of the strength (same tea bag) couple days later would leave me only using the senna tea bags only 3-6 a month, and I could handle the poop in the mean time. Yup saw blood tonight but when I went to the surgeon last month and told him I saw it then he was very unimpressed and said "I don't worry about that". Just had colonoscopy in June and everything was great, but radiation damage has caused my bleeding. But it always worries me. Of course, looking everytime is always so depressing as I've never done that before this awful disease. Yup still going. Been going about 19 times tonight already. Oh yea John, ate that steak and rotten food and yup it really helped :) and I'm feeling so much better.

Hugs! Kim

Yes I'll try that. Just remember thats what they wanted me to take for a cleanse before a colonoscopy and relate it to "big time clean out." Thanks Gail, I will try that :) Hugs back at ya.

    Good!
Good! It honestly has no taste. I drink it in my hot tea, and I don't mind it at all.

I take Miralax daily as well, keep things moving smoothly. A dose with a bit of juice does the job!

What is your daily dose, is it the one recommended on the container? Did you have to ask your surgeon for approval as if I'd ask him he probably would say no. My girlfriendsaid take a Vitamin C and that will get things moving. Have you ever heard of that? Miralax is so expensive too. Too bad you can't get it as a prescription.

    Miralax
    Kim,

My doctor prescribed it for me. I take it twice a day, every day, and I follow the dosage on the bottle. It is a bit pricey, so we've actually been buying the CVS brand. It's the same ingredients, and I get the same results. I have also seen a gastroenterologist, and she agreed with me taking it. Haven't heard about Vitamin C.

    Lazy Bowel
I was in the hospital, and not up to replying to the first thread.

First, your a woman, never trust a man giving regularity advice

Second, lazy bowel is an issue with laxatives and stool softeners in general, no exclusive relationship to Senna

    Third, see number one.

Trust your medical professionals, but know that your "pill pusher" (apologies to John) had probably just read some stupid pamphlet and "thought" he was being helpful.

    Miralax dosage
Same as Gail, the dosage on the bottle, which is a capful. I only take it once a day, however. My doc recommended it, but since it's OTC, no prescription :). I actually use the Miralax, wasn't sure the generic would work as well. Since Gail uses the generic with same results, I will probably try it. However, if they don't carry it in the HUGE bottle, I'm still going for the Miralax! ;)
