I have been reaing that where i live is a cluster where there is a lot of people with cancer and it is carcinogens in our water. this is pretty scarey I live in western ny and way back in the 70's Niagara falls had love canal where homes were built ona landful of chemicals from a nearby plant All those poor people and their families got cancer and the homes had to be destroyed and the people had to move out. I wonder hoe ovaries minding their own business inthe fallopian tubes can et cancer and spread to other body parts. It seems everyone you talk to has cancer or knows someone who does. Makes me want to move but I can't. Does anyone else live in a cluster area??

    cancer cluster area
Hi poopergirl. My mother and I also live in WNY near Letchworth State Park. I recall many years ago discussing how many neighbors we had who had come down with some form or another of cancer. I believe we got to around 18 of them within a 3 to 5 mile circle, and that was just the ones we knew of. There have been more since then. My mom being the latest. She was diagnosed on Jan 15 with stage IV ovarian cancer. Went in on Feb 9 for surgery and is still recovering. We have been distilling our drinking water for years now with a one gallon at a time distiller. We only use the tap water to cook and boil stuff in. We have since been trying to get and keep her on an all organic diet. I am sure ours are not the only cluster areas out there. Your right it is scarey. We've seen many documentaries since then that are quite eye opening about the food we eat and whats happening with the water. Whishing you and that cute pup our best.

    how is your mom doing??
I hope your mom is doing well. Does she like the organic food? It is hard to find good produce in the winter but when spring comes we have a farmers market. I try not to drink tap water and I am going to buy a water purifiet that you hook up in your sink. You live in a very beautful area. My pup and I are doing ok. Waiting for some warm weather. Also do you eat fish. I don't anymore or seafood either. Too much junk in the water. Keep us posted on your mom or have her come to the board too...val

Had small setback but getting better
Mom had a small set back but is doing better. She finally got out after a month stuck in the house because of the snow and ice and slipping possibilities. We went to the Dr. for a check up and some blood work. She had a nice ride, but when we got back home I was helping her out of the car, and when she went to get her coat back on it was caught under her left foot, and her foot slipped into a rut in the mud in the driveway. Didn't bother her that evening but when she woke up the next day her back muscle (the left tender loin) was sore as the dickens. She's been in a lot of pain for the last 5 or 6 days. Today (St.Paddy's day) is the best shes felt since then.
She likes the organic food ok, but would prefer "real food" if she could. We are trying to do the Budwig diet for her, and I have been juiceing the veggies as close to Gerson protocall as I can. I find the organics at the Wegmans in Genesseo. Would go to Lories in Rochester but thats about a hundred mile round trip. Her appatite is not what is was but is slowly getting a little better. She has been staying away from fish too. Thought I found a good thing when I found "organic salmon" that I got for some fish chowder. It wasnt till I read the little sticker on the wraping that said the fish were fed a color compound that was added to the feed. Why in the world did they have to do that? I dont care what color it is, just how it tastes. Watched a documentary called THE COVE. About dolfin slaughter in Japan. They were feeding it to people and they were getting mercury poisining. Might eat a bass out of my uncles pond but that's about it. Staying away from fish.
Mom was wondering what area your from in WNY. When she get's back to feeling like her old self she might just pop on and post. There are a few questions she'd like to ask. Give that pup a hug. Dan
