Hello everyone that we know and hello to all the new members. We are doing pretty good.
The holidays were very tough, first we lost Ed, then my Mom, then Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Diana's 23rd birthday and then Ed's birthday this past monday. He would of been 57 years young. There were alot of those special dates to get through but somehow we did get through them. We spent the holidays with family, we visited the mansions down in Newport, Rhode Island for Diana's birthday, we opened presents and we missed our loved ones terribly. I, for one, was very glad to take down the tree, put all the xmas stuff away and get on with life.
Diana is going back to college the end of the month, she is finishing up her associates degree in business and then deciding to continue on with college. I believe she may go into nursing school, somehow Ed's cancer touched her in a very special way, I think she wants to work with cancer patients, good for her, I say, good that she seen something positive out of this horrible experience.

I miss Ed terribly,I have learned to forgive him totally for the way he treated me in his last year. I have learned just to put the past in the past and remember my dear husband as a good loving man that he was before this beast took over his body. I still read this website quite often and am amazed at how some people handle their cancer, some are so strong and positive, I only wish that Ed could of been that way, but it wasn't so I have left it at that.
I am still amazed on how Jim and Sherri are doing. I wish them well all the time and pray for her and their family. How amazing is he? We always should look at how Jim is and incorporate this attitude into our own lives.

We are still in counceling, we go every week, it has helped but I do believe the best thing that will help both of us is time. We do visit Ed's grave weekly but it is not everyday anymore. We are both truly trying to heal from this past year and with all the prayers from everyone, I think we are on the right road.

I wanted to just post and say "hello" to all of you and wish you the best healthiest year ever. Don't ever give up, look at what I had gone through with Eddie. I made it through, I am doing ok, I still cry but it is not everyday. I believe in the power of prayer and I feel God's presence with me all the time. I know he is taking care of them up in heaven.

Love,

Linda

Hello Linda, I am so proud of the progress you have made in this short time. Alot has happened to you this past year. Now it is 2011. I hope you and your daughter are blessed with contentment and happiness.

We are still in the battle with the beast. Stage IV since Oct 2009. I hope and pray John is one of Gods miracles. Thank you for the continued postings it helps me to see you can go thru tragedy and still go on. Take care Shirley

    glad to hear from you
    Hi Linda,
Glad to see your update and glad to hear that you and Diana are moving on to a new normal. Happy that you are doing the counseling, you went thru so much during Ed's illness that it could only help. I am glad you are putting Ed's anger behind you and remembering the man he was before EC came on the scene. My thoughts and prayers are with you both. It is hard to lose loved ones but you wouldn't want to have missed having them in your lives. take care,

    You're so very brave
Throughout everything you were so brave and that hasn't changed...you're an example to all of us either caregiving or the patient.

I don't know if anything gets easier with time...for some no...others maybe.

It was good to read your update...still saying prayers.
