New to the board with Inflammatory Breast Cancer

I understand the "never in a
I understand the "never in a million years" thought. I started my chemo Nov 1st. Was scared beyond words, but making it though. It gets a little better as you go, maybe because you start to have an idea of what to expect. What type of chemo are you taking? How often? Once you get some of that info, you might go back and finish your about me page... it helps others to know some of that stuff, but not something that you have to do.
Keep in touch here, this is a wonderful site, with GREAT support.

IBC stage 3 also
There are a few of us with IBC here, mine is also triple negative. My final chemo is scheduled for Dec 9th. I get TAC on a 3 week rotation.

Everything moved so fast for me in the first few weeks after dx, I didn't take the time to be scared. Except at night, when I couldn't sleep. So yeah, I do remember being terrified, still am sometimes. But with the help of all the remarkable people here, I've learned a lot about fighting this battle and dealing with the emotional side effects. This is a great place to get support, compassion, strength, and encouragement. So use it, ask questions and share your stories, there will be someone with the right words to help you.

Welcome, Texasgirl! I think we were all in the same place you are now when we were first diagnosed. It is terrifying and something I thought would never happen to me. But, it did and I have finished all treatments that included, surgery, chemo and rads. So, it is scary now but before you know it you will be through your treatments as well. You have an amazing support system here. I don't have the same type of bc but there are several sisters here who do. Continue to ask questions and someone will come along to provide their experience and help you. Good luck and let us know how things go. (((Hugs)))

Hey Texasgirl! You are just like all of us were when we first heard those 3 terrible words, you have cancer. Being scared is just a part of it. But, you have all of us here to hold your hand and to help through your treatments.

As scary as it is, you'll get through it. After the first chemo, you'll no longer fear the "unknown", and as much as this sucks and it does, it's doable.

Feel free to be here whenever you need to for advice, questions, or just to vent. We're here for you and we'll be there (in spirit) with you on Tuesday.

This board has been a Godsend for me and so many others. We all know the fear you're experiencing right now. I am a year post-diagnosis and there are still times (less and less)that I think, "is this really happening?!" You WILL get through this. Latch on to whatever comforts you--be it family, friends, prayer, music, yoga, and this board. Take all the help that is offered. I found through my journey that people can be so helpful and comforting--and, they really want to help. I think it's their way of coping with your diagnosis--just feeling as if they're doing something for you.

I'm sending you so much positive energy today and many prayers. Chemo was a very scary thought for me--I'm the girl who won't even take an aspirin. But, guess what--I had 6 rounds of Taxotere, Adriamycin, Cytoxan (a very agressive treatment) and it wasn't nearly as bad as I imagined. Everyone is different and there are many side effects--but it's very likely that your side effects will be minimal and manageable.

Good luck on your journey. Stay in touch with this board--it really helps. No question is off limits and you can feel free to vent, rage or just tell us how you're doing.

and we so understand what your feeling. We are all in this together no matter the distance. This place just brings us all together like some "cyber" living room where we can vent, cry, laugh, share and just be there for one another. So never forget, you're just a "send" button away from us.
