A sensitive and gifted artist, Eric Violette (best known for appearing in a series of commercials for FreeCreditReport), has composed a beautiful and uplifting song on dealing with the pain and fear of cancer. I'm posting it here in the hopes that it may provide a bit of comfort and hope to those coping with this illness:

YOUR CANCER
Music and lyrics by Eric Violette
Performed live by "God Against god"

http://godagainstgod.bandcamp.com/track/your-cancer-live

Take your fear
and put it in the middle
Take the anger
and light it as a candle

Don't fight
it is useless
take your cancer
and put it in the lining

And don't force it
you're going to break

And you know
it's already gone
see
it's already gone
yes it is

Take your fear
and let it ruffle
See the anger
see how it shuffles

Don't fight
let it go
see your cancer
as real as a dream

Don't resist
You're going to break

And you know
it's already gone
see
it's already gone
yes it is

love your pain
and see the change
kiss yourself
and bless your skin

Break your chain
against the wall
break your wall
against the time

Forget the time
it's already gone

And your pain will break

And you know
it's already gone
see
it's already gone
it's already gone
with the time
it's already gone
Kill the time
it's already gone
yes it is
it's already gone
Kill the time
it's already gone
Kill the time
it's already gone

yes it is

Hi. I am not familiar with this artist... I am sure you had the best intentions and it probably is a lovely song but I don't get it.. what does that mean "take the anger and light it as a candle.." take your cancer and put it in the lining? Sounds like bad poetry to me. This guy should probably stick to commercials..
Sorry, a little on edge tonight.. I don't want to hear about anger ruffling and shuffling.
