Monday morning my Gastro Dr. removed my tube. I am happy to report he yanked it out & there was no pain. He told me it would take a bit of time to heal however, it is not draining & is looking great! How long did you leave your dressing on it? I am changing mine daily & also use saline solution to clean it. I appreciate all of your feedback!
Thank you
Roz

Freedom! Good for you. I quit using the dressing when mine quit draining. Keep up the recovery.

Welcome to the 2nd belly button club :) I only kept mine covered for 48 hours as I had no drainage and it was healing nicely. I washed it with antibacterial soap while I was in the shower and made sure to pat it dry. Never had any problems and didn't need to use any type of ointment on it.

As long as you keep it clean and dry you should be okay.

    Stay well,

Yay! Happy Dance with no Tube!
Took about a week or so, before I was comfortable without a gauze pad over the top. Never had drainage.

    congrats
I am glad it didn't hurt to have it removed. I just kept it covered for a day (no drainage). I was in the pool in a week.

Happy for you. I had a seapage problem that lasted a couple months, along with irritation redness around the SBB. I'd advise to just keep an eye on the seapage, and how well the healing skin looks. Glad to have you in the SBBC.

    Thank you!
It is so great to have my friend's on CSN for backup. Even if it is a simple question. I am comfortable to come on here & ask. Thank you again!

Congrats Roz! Just had mine yanked out a couple weeks ago. I quit using the sterile pads after a day. No oozing, no pads. Mine healed up fast. Hope yours does as well!

    Tube...
Congrats!!! Mine came out Sep 28 and dressing off after 48 hrs. After it healed I put alcohol-free Aloe on it every day to keep it from getting too dry. It' great to be like an automobile tire: TUBELESS!
