Laser - what to expect????????

Hi ladies,
I may be having a spot treated with a laser for a VIN III recurrence. I had a wide local excision in May to treat the first area. The oncologist says this one is in a spot that he feels could be best treated with laser. Would anyone share with me what to expect? Is the procedure done in office? Outpatient? Will I need to take off work? How long? I appreciate any wisdom you can share with me.
