My blood count is down, I am at 9.5 so that is why i am so tired, i started taking iron supplements today, and also since i am on Herceptin i had a Muga scan done and it was at 52%. If i go below 50% i can not receive Herceptin, so hopefully that will not happen. On the bright side, he said it is a very good sign that i am not having the bad back pain anymore, i still have a little ache, but it is much better! Plus, my right side does not hurt as much and my liver is softer and stomach is not as swollen. I will be having a pet scan in 3 weeks, so hopefully it will show a great improvement because i know you all have been praying for me and i love you so much for that!! Of course they gave me steroids today so i have been awake all night. As you know, I have lost a friend on the boards. I think of her many times a day, I did not think i could handle coming here, but I have to check in on you guys- make sure you are all doing well. take care

Meena, I'm glad you came back.
Sounds like things are moving in the right direction physically and you have skilled people taking care of that. Please take care of yourself emotionally. It is important that you do things that connect you with life. Watch a funny movie, kiss a baby, get some fresh air, go on a picnic (if weather permits). Sadness and fear can make for a toxic combination so those of us dealing with bc need to seek out the joy in life. You'll still have sad times and I know it is important to grieve but we need to have some joy and laughter, too. Hope is a wonderful emotion and keeps me going in the face of uncertainly. I wish you hope and joy today....you certainly deserve it.

I am so glad that your back
I am so glad that your back pain is better, but I am sorry that you are suffering the cruddy side effects: anemia and decreased heart functioning. And the swelling is down--that is great news!

Years ago, I couldn't be around anyone else with breast cancer unless that had a success story to share. I was fighting so hard and spending all of my time and energy with my daughter (then 4). I believe that you do what you have to do to get better. So, selfishly, I want you here, but I think we all understand what it is like to need some distance from the sadness here.

Steroids keep me up too. I feel great, but no way that I'm going to sleep. So rest when you can, especially with the anemia.

Please do check in from time to time though because we care and worry. So rest friend and know that we surround you in prayers and hugs!

Thank you, ladies for your support, ideas and knowledge. Since I am home bound for a few days due the risk of infection, I have found internet shopping. I have found so many bargins on line, i guess i am self med-ecating with that. Just hanging out and taking it easy, Chinese food for dinner tonight and I just woke up at 12pm! So, i guess if I did not have cancer, i would be like one the Housewifes of California, sleep late, shopping all day and catered food!!! hahahahahaha. Oh yeah, i have been watching too much TV and still reading STAR! Cynthia, I see your daughter has grown into a beautiful woman, she must be so proud of you. Take care

    (((((((hugs)))))) to you,
(((((((hugs)))))) to you, sweet Meena! I focus on all of the positives, and hope than any negatives fade, fade, fade away! I know you have suffered a loss recently..it is so hard when a sister and kindred spirit you have grown especially close to loses her battle. Our hearts were of course connected with yours...

Thank you for checking in; I know it isn't always an easy thing! But you are such an integral part of our family here~ and we love you!

^j^ ^j^ May the angels guide you in all you do!

Meena, I am so glad to read that you have some good news. You are a very important "link" in this board and I'm glad you didn't stay away long. I, too, feel sad at the passing of Deb, she joined around the same time I did. I remember her boxer as her avatar. Try to remember the positive things and don't dwell on the negatives. You are one hell of an inspiration to many of us and for that, thank you!! Take care of yourself and have fun internet shopping. (((Hugs)))

I know the loss of your dear friend has taken a toll on you, and, it is certainly understandable. I haven't gone through that, so, I can't understand totally what you are going through, but, I hope you know that all of us sympathize with you.

It was so good to come on and to see a post from you. Your sisters in pink all love you, as, I hope you know, and, are very concerned about you and want to continue to see updates from you, good or bad.

So glad that your pain has lessened and I am sending prayers for your PET scan. Please let us know your results.

You just take it easy, enjoy your internet shopping and reading the gossip in the Star. We rely on you to keep us updated on the news of the stars too. lol

As always, I am praying for you,

    Sue :)

    Meena,
So glad to hear from you. It is so like you to want to check up on us when you are going through so much. You are truly a sweetheart. I love internet shopping. It is so convenient and the stuff is delivered right to the door. I will be doing my Christmas shopping this way for most of my stuff. Otherwise, I shop locally and support my local merchants. But when the weather is bad or I just don't want to go out or can't for some reason, I love the ability to shop and compare online. I have never bought Star or any of the gossip papers but I am guilty of reading all the headlines on them in the grocery checkout line. And if there is one in a waiting room I always sneak a peek, but don't tell anyone. I hope that you are able to continue your heceptin treatments and that you respond well to this and anything else they throw at your cancer. Big prayers, good thoughts and gentle hugs beaming to you.

Meena 1 .. Good news that may lead to GREAT news .. I
pray this for you. Strength and Courage come in all shapes, sizes and colors - at least this is I found out for myself .. back in August 2009 -- hence my fondiness for our community of fighting WARRIOR sisters in PINK.

Debbie1969 .. I recall a few weeks ago posting .. you replied something about meeting her in New York .. for margarita's -- fiesty and witty to the very end. It's difficult to lose someone close to us, we grieve for all they will miss once leaving our earth and the times will never share with them.

Keep the faith, however dark your days may be.

thanks for the update. I had to take iron supplements a couple of years ago. Make sure you drink a lot of water or take a stool softener. You don't want to add constipation to your problems. I hope all your numbers are good as it seems you are feeling better with less back pain. Wishing you continued good news with the tests.
