Hi Everyone,
my name is Natalie and I'm knew to this site. I was wondering if anyone has had experience with the clinical drug AMG 386 and Doxil. I'm starting with these treatments next month and I really don't know what to expect. Thanks in advance for any helpful advice or insite to this matter.

Thanks so much. I hope to get some feedback, because I'm really scared about undergoing this yet again.

I did a brief bit of
I did a brief bit of research on the study and there isn't a lot of data, since it is Phase Ib. At least it's not a blind, two-arm study, so you know going in that you will be getting the "real thing". I think clinical trials are the way to go, if you qualify for one like this. You will be watched carefully for side effects, etc.

A woman in my local support group was part of the clinical trial when Taxol/Carboplatin were being tested for ovarian cancer. She was Stage IIIc and that was over 10 years ago. She has never had a recurrence.

    Welcome Natalie
I don't have experience with the clinical drug, but I had four rounds of Doxil this summer. Doxil is fairly easy to tolerate, but you have to watch out for the side effects called hand and foot syndrome. You will receive instructions, but basically you should ice your feet and hands during and after infusions, avoid citrus for five days, take cool rather hot showers and use lots of hand cream on those feet and hands. Let me know if you need more help with this, ok?

@ MWEE..I had the hands and foot syndrome when I was on Taxol/Carboplatin. It drove me crazy. But I will follow your advice.

My doctor suggest Doxil with AMG386 too
Dear Nat, How are you doing? Can you share your experience on the Doxil + AMG386 treatment with me? My doctor suggest me to get the treatment for recurrent Ovarian Cancer.
Thank you, and best wishes to you
